The AIF-D anti water hammer valve (water shock absorber) works on a pressure air chamber behind a flexible diaphragm principle and does not suffer from response lag time, friction wear, sealing leakage or air bubble loss that can be seen in other designs.
Generally water hammer occurs downstream from check or non-return valves on when the length of a horizontal pipe exceed 50 meters or when pumps are used in pipeline systems during start or shut down. Installing the AIF series in line water hammer arrestor will significantly reduce the water hammer, banging effects of water pressure waves caused by sudden changes in water movement.
