DN15 ATEX 2/2 Way Coaxial Solenoid Valve – RSG 29015
The RSG 29015 is a DN15 ATEX explosion-protected 2/2 way direct-acting coaxial solenoid valve designed for reliable control of compatible liquids and gases in hazardous-area applications at pressures from 0 to 20 Bar.
Available as normally closed or normally open, the direct-acting coaxial design operates from zero differential pressure and is backpressure-tight to 16 Bar. This makes the RSG 29015 particularly suitable for applications where process pressure can vary or pressure may occur on either side of the valve.
The DN15 version is available with 3/8", 1/2" or 3/4" BSP connections, a 15mm nominal diameter and a manufacturer-rated Kv flow coefficient of 5.2 m³/h.
Valve Function & Operation
The RSG 29015 is a direct-acting 2/2 way coaxial solenoid valve available in normally closed and normally open configurations.
290A15 – Normally Closed
The valve remains closed when electrically de-energised and opens when the solenoid is energised.
290B15 – Normally Open
The valve remains open when electrically de-energised and closes when the solenoid is energised.
Because the RSG 29015 is direct acting, it requires no minimum operating pressure or differential pressure across the valve.

The combination of zero-differential operation and resistance to reverse pressure makes the RSG 29015 particularly useful in demanding process systems where pressure conditions can change during operation.
Flow Capacity
The DN15 RSG 29015 has a manufacturer-rated conventional Kv flow coefficient of 5.2 m³/h.
Practical flow data for this configuration gives approximately 91 litres/minute of water at 1 Bar pressure difference.
The DN15 flow path provides substantially greater capacity than the DN10 RSG 29010 while retaining the same 20 Bar forward and 16 Bar reverse-pressure capability.
Direct-Acting Coaxial Design

Vacuum Service
A dedicated vacuum configuration is available for the RSG 290 Series.
Because the valve is direct acting, operation does not depend upon process pressure or a minimum differential pressure.
This makes the RSG 29015 particularly useful for vacuum, low-pressure and pressure-variable applications where a conventional pilot-operated solenoid valve may not operate reliably.
Oxygen & Clean Service
The RSG 29015 can be supplied degreased for oxygen service.
Oxygen applications require appropriate cleaning, handling and material compatibility. Oxygen service should therefore always be specified when ordering to ensure the correct prepared valve is supplied.
An oil and grease-free configuration is also available for clean process applications.
