Gas Solenoid Valves – VMR Series Safety Shut-Off Valves

Overview of Elektrogas VMR Gas Solenoid Valves
The VMR series gas solenoid valves from Elektrogas are fast-opening, fast-closing shut-off valves designed for safety and reliability in industrial gas applications. These normally closed valves are essential in gas burner systems, boilers, kilns, and other gas-consuming equipment.
Key Features of VMR Gas Safety Shut-Off Valves
Robust Construction and Versatility
Made from die cast aluminium alloy or hot-pressed brass (VMR-OTN version)
Connection sizes from DN 8 to DN 150
Designed for use with air and non-aggressive gases (EN 437 families 1, 2, and 3)
Versions available for biogas and COG applications
Safety and Compliance
Normally closed: valve opens only when powered, ensuring safe shut-off
EN161 Class A back pressure sealing
Explosion-proof (Ex-proof) versions for ATEX Zones 2 and 22
Certified to SIL 3 (IEC EN 61508) for functional safety
Reliable and Durable Operation
Fast action: <1s opening/closing time
Flow rate adjustment (non-brass models)
Integrated fine mesh filter and pressure gauges
Continuous service capability (100% ED)
Designed for industrial cycling and high thermal/mechanical resistance
How VMR Solenoid Valves Work
Functioning Principle
The valve is closed when de-energised, held by a spring and gas line pressure
When energised, the magnetic coil pulls the disc, allowing rapid gas flow
Built-in regulating screw enables flow adjustment
On power loss, the valve immediately closes to stop gas flow
Typical Applications
Industrial gas trains
Atmospheric gas boilers
Power burners and kilns
Safety shut-off systems in commercial and industrial gas networks
