DN20 3/2 Way Air Pilot Coaxial Valve – RSG 38020
The RSG 38020 is a DN20 3/2 way externally controlled coaxial valve designed for reliable switching, diverting and exhausting of compatible liquids and gases at pressures from 0 to 64 Bar.
Available as normally closed or normally open, the valve uses a double-acting pneumatic piston with return spring, operated by a 3–8 Bar pilot air supply. Independent pneumatic actuation provides reliable switching from zero differential pressure, making the RSG 38020 suitable for high-pressure, low-pressure and vacuum applications.
The DN20 RSG 38020 provides a manufacturer-rated Kv flow coefficient of 10.0 m³/h with standard 1/2", 3/4" or 1" BSP connections, plus an optional 1¼" BSP connection.
Valve Function & Operation
The RSG 38020 is available in two switching configurations.
380A20 – Normally Closed
In the normal position, the main P → A flow path is closed and the alternative flow path is selected. Applying pilot pressure switches the valve to connect the main process flow.
380B20 – Normally Open
The main P → A flow path is open in the normal position and switches to the alternative flow path when the pneumatic actuator is operated.
The valve is externally controlled, so operation does not depend upon process pressure or require a minimum differential pressure.

The Series 380 design provides reverse-pressure sealing up to 16 Bar and can be mounted in any position.
3/2 Way Coaxial Valve Design
The RSG 38020 combines three process ports and two valve seats within a single externally controlled coaxial valve assembly.
This allows one valve to perform functions such as:

The coaxial construction provides a high-flow process path while pneumatic actuation remains independent of the process medium.

Actual switching time depends upon operating pressure, pilot pressure, pilot valve selection and any exhaust-air throttling fitted to the pneumatic control system.
The valve can be installed in any mounting position.

Because switching force is supplied independently by the pneumatic actuator, the RSG 38020 is suitable for zero-pressure and vacuum applications.
An oil and grease-free configuration is also available for clean process requirements.

An upstream air preparation unit is recommended to provide a clean pilot-air supply and help maximise actuator service life.

Position Indication
