WRAS Approved SHAKO Normally Open Brass Water Solenoid Valve

The SHAKO PU225DN-20 is a 2" WRAS approved brass normally open solenoid valve designed for potable water, priority demand, sprinkler and high-flow water control applications.

This 2/2 way pressure-assisted diaphragm valve remains open when de-energised and closes when electrical power is applied. Its normally open design is particularly useful where water flow is required to resume automatically following loss of electrical power.

Featuring an extra-large 50mm orifice with a Kv flow factor of 580 L/min, the PU225DN-20 provides exceptional flow capacity for large commercial and industrial water systems. Its anti-water-hammer design and approximately 3-second operating time help reduce hydraulic shock in large-bore pipework.

Why Choose a Normally Open Solenoid Valve?

A normally open solenoid valve remains open without electrical power and closes when energised. If power is removed, the PU225DN-20 automatically returns to its open position.

This makes it particularly useful for large water systems where flow should be maintained or restored following loss of electrical power, including certain priority demand, sprinkler, cooling, process-water and emergency water applications.

For safety-critical installations, the complete valve, controller and system configuration should be selected to meet the requirements of the application.
