High-Efficiency Industrial Compressed Air Filtration – 1/2" to DN250
The Connexion BHL Series stainless steel compressed air filters are engineered for demanding industrial applications where exceptional air purity, corrosion resistance and dependable filtration are essential.
Available in 316 stainless steel construction, the BHL Series combines precision particulate filtration, high-efficiency oil and water aerosol coalescing and optional activated carbon filtration to protect sensitive pneumatic equipment, compressed air dryers, instrumentation and production processes.
With seven specialist filtration grades, connection sizes from 1/2" BSP to DN250 flanged and maximum operating pressures up to 16 Bar, these heavy-duty compressed air filters provide a versatile solution for industrial air treatment systems requiring consistent performance and long service life.
Advanced Multi-Stage Compressed Air Filtration
Compressed air can contain microscopic solid particles, liquid water, oil aerosols and oil vapours originating from the compressor, distribution pipework and surrounding atmosphere.
Left untreated, these contaminants can cause premature equipment wear, reduced process efficiency, product contamination and expensive maintenance.
The BHL Series offers seven selectable filtration grades, allowing filtration performance to be matched to the required compressed air quality.
**PF – Primary Particulate Filtration**
5 micron filtration for removing larger solid particles and initial contamination before finer downstream filtration.
**AO – General Coalescing Filtration**
1 micron filtration for removing fine particles and oil aerosols, providing effective protection for general industrial compressed air systems.
**AA – High-Efficiency Coalescing Filtration**
0.01 micron filtration for applications requiring substantially reduced oil aerosol carryover and improved compressed air cleanliness.
**AX – Ultra-Fine Coalescing Filtration**
0.01 micron high-efficiency filtration designed for demanding applications requiring extremely low residual oil content.
**ACS – Activated Carbon Filtration**
Specialist activated carbon filtration for reducing residual oil vapours and odours in compressed air systems.
**AR – Dust Removal Filtration**
Fine particulate filtration for removing dust and solid contamination, including applications requiring protection after adsorption drying.
**AAR – High-Efficiency Dust Removal**
Ultra-fine particulate filtration for demanding applications requiring extremely clean compressed air.
Seven Filtration Grades for Different Air Quality Requirements
The BHL Series allows users to configure a complete compressed air treatment system by selecting the appropriate filtration elements.
Depending on the filtration grade, the range provides:
- Particle filtration down to 0.01 micron
- High-efficiency oil aerosol separation
- Residual oil content as low as 0.001 mg/m³ with AX filtration
- Activated carbon treatment for residual oil vapour
- Fine dust removal for sensitive downstream equipment
Performance depends on the selected filter element, operating conditions and upstream air treatment.

Threaded or flanged connection options allow the BHL Series to accommodate everything from individual compressed air treatment systems to large industrial distribution networks.
Flow ratings are based on 7 Bar(g) operating pressure, 20°C and the manufacturer's specified reference conditions. Actual flow capacity varies with operating pressure.
Coalescing Filtration & Condensate Removal
High-efficiency coalescing filter elements capture fine oil and water aerosols from the compressed air stream.
Collected liquid contaminants are separated and directed towards the filter drain for removal, helping reduce liquid carryover into downstream equipment.
The BHL Series supports manual condensate drainage, with alternative drainage arrangements available according to configuration.
Effective condensate management helps protect downstream refrigeration dryers, desiccant dryers, pneumatic components and sensitive production equipment.
Activated Carbon Filtration for Oil Vapour Reduction
For applications requiring additional compressed air purification, the ACS activated carbon grade provides treatment of residual oil vapours and associated odours.
Activated carbon filtration is particularly valuable where compressed air cleanliness is important to production quality, sensitive equipment or process reliability.
Activated carbon stages should be installed with appropriate upstream particulate and coalescing filtration to protect the carbon element and maintain effective performance.
