ATEX Certified Solenoid Valves
ATEX solenoid valves are designed for use in hazardous areas where explosive gases or dust may be present. These valves are certified for safe operation in Zone 0, Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 and Zone 22 environments depending on protection type. Three main ATEX protection methods are available: Ex d – Explosion Proof (Flameproof) Explosion proof solenoid valves are designed to contain any internal explosion and prevent ignition of the surrounding atmosphere. Suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous gas environments. Ex ia – Intrinsically Safe Intrinsically safe solenoid valves limit electrical energy to prevent ignition, even under fault conditions. These are suitable for Zone 0, Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments and are commonly used with safety barriers and control systems. Ex m – Encapsulation Encapsulated solenoid valves are protected by sealing electrical components in resin, making them ideal for dust environments such as Zone 21 and Zone 22. Key Features: ATEX certified for gas and dust hazardous areas Available in Ex d, Ex ia and Ex m protection types Suitable for Zones 0, 1, 2, 21 and 22 Brass, stainless steel, aluminium and plastic options 2/2, 3/2 and 5/2 way valve configurations Wide pressure and temperature ranges Typical Applications: Oil & gas Chemical processing Pharmaceutical manufacturing Fuel systems Hazardous industrial environments ATEX solenoid valves ensure safe and reliable control of fluids and gases in potentially explosive atmospheres.
