ATEX Ex d 3/2 Universal Solenoid Valve – Rotex 30309-10-4
The Rotex 30309-10-4 is a high-flow ATEX Ex d explosion-proof 3/2 way universal solenoid valve designed for demanding hazardous-area process and industrial control applications.
Its universal 3-way configuration allows a single valve to be piped for normally closed, normally open, diverting or mixing operation. The direct acting design operates from high vacuum through to 10 Bar without requiring a minimum pressure differential, while the large 10mm orifice provides a water flow rate of approximately 30 L/min at 1 Bar pressure drop.
Available with aluminium, brass or 316 stainless steel CF8 bodies, the 30309-10-4 combines bubble-tight shut-off, 9G vibration resistance, switching rates up to 800 cycles per minute and a life expectancy exceeding 20 million cycles.

Operation: Direct acting
The universal port configuration enables the Rotex 30309-10-4 to perform four different control functions:
3/2 Normally Closed – primary flow is closed when the solenoid is de-energised.
3/2 Normally Open – primary flow remains open when the solenoid is de-energised.
Diverting – directs a single inlet between two alternative outlets.
Mixing – allows two inlet paths to be switched towards a common outlet.
Because the valve is direct acting, it operates from zero differential pressure, making it suitable for vacuum and low-pressure applications as well as positive pressures up to 10 Bar.

The relatively large 10mm orifice provides substantially higher flow than many conventional direct acting 3/2 hazardous-area solenoid valves.

Except for the 12V DC version, the ATEX coils are rectified and accept either AC 50/60Hz or DC input at the specified voltage.
