ATEX Ex d 5/2 Monostable Solenoid Valve – Rotex 51440A-6
The Rotex 51440A-6 is a high-performance ATEX Ex d explosion-proof 5/2 way monostable solenoid valve designed for hazardous-area pneumatic and process control applications requiring reliable directional switching and automatic spring return.
Using a single-solenoid monostable design, the valve changes state when energised and automatically returns to its normal position when electrical power is removed. Internal pilot operation provides rapid, reliable switching at working pressures from 2 to 10 Bar.
Available with aluminium, brass or 316 stainless steel CF8 bodies, the 51440A-6 combines bubble-tight shut-off, resistance to vibration up to 9G, switching rates up to 1200 cycles per minute and a life expectancy exceeding 20 million cycles.

Operation: Internally piloted
The five-port, two-position configuration is designed primarily for directional control of double-acting pneumatic actuators and cylinders.
When the solenoid is energised, the valve switches the pressure and exhaust paths to move the actuator. When electrical power is removed, the valve automatically returns to its normal position.
The internally piloted design requires pilot pressure for reliable switching.
Operating pressure: 2 to 10 Bar
The supplied data also specifies a minimum pressure differential of 0.5 or 1 Bar depending on configuration.
