Description
1/2" Nylon Solenoid Valve 0.2–7 Bar – Sunwell PD15
The Sunwell PD15 is a high-flow 1/2" pressure-assisted normally closed solenoid valve designed for reliable control of water, air and compatible slightly aggressive fluids. Its lightweight nylon body, stainless steel internal components and large 18mm orifice provide a practical combination of corrosion resistance and high flow capacity.
The servo-assisted diaphragm design requires only 0.2 Bar minimum differential pressure and provides flow up to 57.2 L/min. AC versions operate from 0.2–7 Bar, while the high-power DC configuration operates from 0.2–3 Bar. The manufacturer confirms these ratings for the PD15 with its respective AC and DC solenoid systems.
The PD15 is available with FKM seals and can be configured with an optional explosion-protected solenoid operator for hazardous-area installations.
Valve Function & Operation
Function: 2/2 way normally closed
Operation: Pressure assisted / servo assisted
Normal Position: Closed when de-energised
Energised Position: Open
Minimum Differential Pressure: 0.2 Bar
AC Operating Pressure: 0.2 to 7 Bar
DC Operating Pressure: 0.2 to 3 Bar
Mounting Position: Coil upright
Opening Time: 200–400ms
Closing Time: 1000–3000ms
The PD15 uses upstream pressure to assist movement of the diaphragm. A minimum 0.2 Bar differential pressure is therefore required for reliable operation.
Ports & Connections
Port Size: 1/2" BSP
Optional Thread: NPT
Orifice: 18mm
The 18mm internal flow path provides substantially higher flow than many compact 1/2" direct-acting valves while retaining a lightweight nylon construction.
Pressure & Flow
AC Operating Pressure: 0.2 to 7 Bar
DC Operating Pressure: 0.2 to 3 Bar
Minimum Differential Pressure: 0.2 Bar
Orifice: 18mm
Water Flow: 57.2 L/min at 1 Bar pressure drop
Maximum Media Viscosity: 50 cSt
The combination of an 18mm orifice and 57.2 L/min water flow makes the PD15 suitable for water treatment, irrigation, filling and general industrial fluid-control applications.
Construction & Materials
Body: Nylon
Tube: Stainless steel
Internal Components: Stainless steel
AC Shading Ring: Silver
DC Version: Without shading ring
Standard Seal: FKM / Viton
Optional Seals: NBR or EPDM
The manufacturer specifies stainless steel for the tube and internal components, with a silver shading ring used on standard AC versions and no shading ring on DC versions.

Why Choose the Sunwell PD15?
The PD15 combines a lightweight corrosion-resistant nylon body with a large 18mm orifice and 57.2 L/min water flow, providing excellent capacity from a compact 1/2" solenoid valve.
Its pressure-assisted diaphragm design offers a useful 0.2 Bar minimum differential, while separate AC and high-power DC solenoid configurations allow the valve to be selected according to available supply voltage and required operating pressure.
FKM, NBR and EPDM seal choices, stainless steel internals, an optional NPT connection and an ATEX solenoid option make the PD15 adaptable to a wide range of industrial water and compatible process-fluid applications.
