Solenoid Valve Magnets
Solenoid Valve Operating Magnets (SVOM) – Manual Override, Testing & Commissioning Tools Solenoid Valve Operating Magnets (SVOM) are specialist maintenance tools designed to manually operate electrically actuated solenoid valves without electrical power. Widely used by service engineers, refrigeration technicians, HVAC contractors and maintenance personnel, these permanent magnets provide a simple and reliable method of testing, commissioning, fault finding and emergency operation of solenoid valves. By temporarily replacing the solenoid coil, the operating magnet moves the valve armature into the energised position, allowing valves to be opened or closed manually during installation, servicing, refrigerant recovery and system commissioning. Available in two performance ranges, the standard 1.5kg pull magnets are suitable for most general-purpose solenoid valves, while the heavy-duty 40kg pull versions are designed for larger valves and applications requiring significantly greater magnetic force. Available Solenoid Valve Operating Magnets Standard Duty Magnets – 1.5kg Pull Force Ideal for most refrigeration, HVAC, water, air and industrial solenoid valves. Magnet 10 – 10mm Bore (White) Magnet 15 – 15mm Bore (Orange) Magnet 18 – 18mm Bore (Red) Features ✓ 1500 Gauss magnetic flux density ✓ 1.5kg pull force ✓ Axially polarised magnet design ✓ Strong ABS corrosion-resistant housing ✓ Maximum operating temperature +250°C ✓ Suitable for most general-purpose solenoid valves Heavy Duty Magnets – 40kg Pull Force Designed for larger armatures and applications requiring exceptional magnetic strength. Magnet 20 – 20mm Bore (Blue) Magnet 24 – 24mm Bore (Yellow) Features ✓ 40kg pull force ✓ High-strength N42 NdFeB Neodymium magnets ✓ Suitable for larger solenoid valve armatures ✓ Designed to operate valves requiring higher magnetic force ✓ Strong ABS protective housing ✓ Professional maintenance and commissioning tool Typical Applications Solenoid valve commissioning Solenoid valve testing Solenoid valve manual override Refrigeration plant maintenance Air conditioning systems Compressed air installations Water treatment systems Industrial process control Emergency valve operation Plant servicing and fault diagnosis Why Use a Solenoid Valve Operating Magnet? Operating magnets eliminate the need to temporarily wire electrical supplies during commissioning and maintenance. Simply remove the solenoid coil, place the magnet over the valve stem and the armature moves into the energised position. This makes them invaluable for: New equipment commissioning Refrigerant recovery operations Valve function testing Emergency coil failure situations Preventative maintenance programmes Choosing the Correct Magnet For best results, select a magnet with a bore size equal to or larger than the solenoid valve armature or coil bore diameter. Up to 10mm armature → Magnet 10 Up to 15mm armature → Magnet 15 Up to 18mm armature → Magnet 18 Up to 20mm armature → Magnet 20 Up to 24mm armature → Magnet 24
