1" Normally Open Brass Solenoid Valve 0.5–10 Bar – SHAKO PU225AN-08

The SHAKO PU225AN-08 is a high-flow 1" BSP normally open brass solenoid valve designed for automatic control of water, compressed air, light oils and compatible industrial fluids.

Featuring a pressure-assisted diaphragm, large 25mm orifice and Kv flow factor of 165 L/min, this 2/2 way valve delivers reliable fluid control across a differential pressure range of 0.5 to 10 bar.

Unlike conventional normally closed solenoid valves, the PU225AN-08 remains open when electrical power is removed and closes when energised. This fail-open operation makes it particularly suitable for industrial cooling water systems, compressed air installations and process equipment where fluid flow must continue following an electrical power failure.

Manufactured by SHAKO with a durable brass body, stainless steel internal components and interchangeable diaphragm materials, the PU225AN-08 combines dependable operation with flexible media compatibility and a wide choice of electrical supply voltages.

Normally Open Operation

The PU225AN-08 operates as a 2/2 way normally open solenoid valve using a pressure-assisted diaphragm mechanism.

Power OFF → Valve OPEN – Fluid flows through the valve.

Power ON → Valve CLOSED – Energising the solenoid closes the valve.

Power Failure → Valve returns to its normally open position, provided the required operating conditions are maintained.

The pressure-assisted design requires a minimum differential pressure of 0.5 bar for reliable operation.

This valve is not suitable for gravity-fed or zero-pressure applications.

These temperature ranges depend on the selected seal material. The maximum permitted operating temperature of the complete valve assembly may be lower depending on the solenoid coil, operating conditions and selected configuration.
