SHAKO 316 Stainless Steel Filter Elements – 5 & 40 Micron – KUN / KUS
The SHAKO KUN and KUS Series are replacement stainless steel filter elements designed for compatible SHAKO compressed air filters, filter regulators and miniature air treatment units.
Manufactured from SUS316 stainless steel, these cylindrical filter elements are available in 5 micron and 40 micron filtration grades, providing reusable filtration solutions for removing particulate contamination from compatible compressed air systems.
The range includes replacement elements for SHAKO US, USF and miniature stainless steel air treatment series, with different element sizes and part numbers to match the original filter housing.

The KUN and KUS filter elements are manufactured from SUS316 stainless steel, offering a durable alternative to conventional disposable filter media.

5 Micron vs 40 Micron Filtration
The two filtration grades allow customers to select the appropriate particulate filtration level for their compressed air equipment.
5 Micron Filter Elements
The 5µm elements are intended for finer particulate filtration, capturing smaller particles than the corresponding 40µm versions.
Suitable for applications requiring finer filtration within the capabilities of the selected SHAKO filter assembly.
40 Micron Filter Elements
The 40µm elements provide coarser particulate filtration for general compressed air treatment applications.
They are suitable for removing larger particulate contamination where fine filtration is not required.
Filtration performance depends on the complete filter assembly, operating conditions and the nature of the contamination.

Maintenance & Replacement
Regular inspection and maintenance of compressed air filter elements helps maintain airflow and filtration performance.
Before removing a filter element, isolate the compressed air supply and fully depressurise the filter housing.
Inspect the element for particulate accumulation, damage or excessive contamination.
Clean or replace the element as appropriate, following the filter manufacturer's instructions.
Ensure the replacement element is correctly seated and the filter bowl and seals are properly refitted before restoring pressure.
