Description
Rotex ATEX Ex ia Intrinsically Safe Coil – III 14mm 2.3W
The Rotex III is an ATEX and IECEx Ex ia intrinsically safe solenoid coil designed for compatible Rotex solenoid valves operating in hazardous gas and combustible dust environments.
Operating at 24V DC, the coil uses an integrated 8 Watt booster circuit to provide increased power during initial actuation before reducing to a 2.3 Watt operating power.
Featuring a 14mm bore, compact 56mm height and a choice of aluminium or 316 stainless steel housing, the Rotex III provides IP67 protection for demanding intrinsically safe process-control applications.

Booster Circuit Operation
The integrated 8W booster circuit is an important feature of this operator.
It provides higher power during initial solenoid actuation and then reduces the electrical demand to the coil's 2.3W operating level.
This provides the magnetic force required to operate compatible Rotex valve mechanisms while maintaining the low-power characteristics required for an intrinsically safe control system.
Intrinsically Safe Installation
The Rotex III must be incorporated into a correctly designed intrinsically safe circuit using a suitable Ex ia barrier or galvanic isolator.
I would also add the certified entity parameters to this page if you have them for this exact coil. On the Rotex III valves we've just completed we had Ui, Ii, Pi, Li and Ci values, but I wouldn't automatically transfer them onto a standalone coil page without confirming that they belong to this exact operator.
