Description
DIN Form A Bridge Rectifier Connector LED + VDR – IP65
Nass Magnet EN 175301-803 Form A electrical connector incorporating a full bridge rectifier, red LED status indication and VDR varistor surge protection for industrial solenoid valves and coils.
The integrated full bridge rectifier converts an AC input supply into a DC output, allowing a compatible DC solenoid coil to be operated from an AC electrical supply. The connector also incorporates a red LED for visual electrical status indication and a VDR varistor to suppress potentially damaging switching transients.
Available in 24V, 110V and 230V versions, this multifunction DIN connector provides rectification, indication and electrical protection in a single compact Form A connection.
The current Nass Magnet design uses a two-piece PA6 GF30 / PA6 GF20 housing, M20 × 1.5 cable gland for 6–8mm cable, 2 + PE connection with 18mm contact spacing and IP65 environmental protection when correctly assembled.

Full Bridge Rectifier – AC to DC Conversion
The principal feature of this connector is its integrated full bridge rectifier.
A bridge rectifier uses four diodes to convert an alternating AC input into a full-wave rectified DC output.
This allows a suitable DC solenoid coil to be powered from an AC electrical supply without requiring a separate external rectifier.
This can provide a particularly neat solution where an installation has an AC control supply but the required solenoid operator uses a compatible DC coil.
Why Use a Bridge Rectifier Connector?
A rectifier DIN connector can eliminate the need for a separate external rectifier or dedicated AC coil in suitable applications.
Potential benefits include:
✓ Operate compatible DC coils from AC supplies
✓ Rectification directly at the solenoid
✓ Reduced external electrical components
✓ Simplified machine wiring
✓ Red LED electrical status indication
✓ Integrated transient suppression
✓ Compact DIN Form A installation
It can also help standardise machinery around DC solenoid coils while accommodating installations with AC control supplies.
Red LED Status Indication
The integrated red LED provides immediate visual confirmation of electrical operation at the solenoid valve.
This makes commissioning, maintenance and fault finding easier by helping an engineer establish whether electrical power is present at the valve.
Useful for:
✓ Electrical fault finding
✓ Machine commissioning
✓ Solenoid valve testing
✓ Preventative maintenance
✓ Process monitoring
VDR Varistor Surge Protection
In addition to rectification, the connector incorporates a VDR varistor on the input.
Solenoid coils are inductive loads and can generate voltage transients during switching. The varistor helps limit excessive transient voltage, reducing electrical stress on associated components.
The specification identifies diodes on the output as part of the protective circuit.
The result is a connector combining three electrical functions:
AC/DC Rectification → LED Indication → Transient Protection
Housing & Construction
Housing: Two-piece
Housing colour: Black with milky/transparent cover
Housing material: PA6 GF30 / PA6 GF20
Terminal block: PA6 GF30
Poles: 2 + PE
Contact spacing: 18mm
Contacts: CuZn, tin-plated
Contact resistance: <15mΩ
Conductor cross-section: 0.5–1.5mm²
Gasket: Black NBR profile
Fastening screw: Steel 4.8, zinc/nickel plated
Cable Connection
Cable gland thread: M20 × 1.5
Suitable cable diameter: 6–8mm
Cable gland material: PA6 GF30
Conductor size: 0.5–1.5mm²
Cable gland tightening torque: 1.8 ±0.2Nm
The current Nass design therefore uses M20 × 1.5 rather than PG9, although both are associated with approximately 6–8mm cable sizes.
For stranded and fine-stranded conductors, suitable ferrules are mandatory. Nass also states that conductor cross-section affects the maximum permissible current-load capacity.
Adjustable Earth Position
Standard protective earth position: 12h
As with the other Nass Form A connectors in this range, the terminal arrangement can be repositioned during assembly to suit installation orientation:
✓ 12h
✓ 3h
✓ 6h
✓ 9h
This provides flexibility where the orientation of the solenoid coil or cable entry requires an alternative connection position.
Environmental Specification
Protection: IP65 to IEC 60529
Ambient temperature: -25°C to +90°C
RoHS: Compliant
The IP65 rating applies when the connector is correctly mounted to the compatible counterpart.
Typical Applications
✓ Solenoid valves
✓ DC coils operated from AC supplies
✓ Pneumatic control valves
✓ Hydraulic solenoid valves
✓ Water control valves
✓ Process control equipment
✓ Industrial automation
✓ OEM machinery
✓ Packaging machinery
✓ Pumps and fluid systems
✓ PLC controlled machinery
✓ Industrial control systems
Bridge Rectifier vs Standard DIN Connector
A conventional no-circuit DIN connector simply provides the electrical connection between the supply and solenoid coil.
An LED connector adds visual indication.
An LED + VDR connector adds transient suppression.
This bridge rectifier + LED + VDR version goes further by providing:
Full-wave rectification + visual indication + transient protection
That makes it particularly useful where an AC control supply needs to operate a compatible DC solenoid coil while retaining a compact standard DIN Form A connection.
Why Choose the Nass Magnet Bridge Rectifier Connector?
The Nass Magnet bridge rectifier DIN connector integrates several normally separate electrical functions into one compact solenoid valve connector.
The full bridge rectifier converts AC to rectified DC, the red LED provides visual confirmation of electrical operation, and the VDR varistor helps protect against transient voltage spikes.
Available in 24V, 110V and 230V versions, with 1.5A maximum operating current, IP65 protection and the standard EN 175301-803 Form A interface, it provides a particularly useful solution for industrial solenoid valve installations requiring rectification directly at the coil.
