Description

DIN Form B 11mm PWM Power Saving Connector 24VDC

DIN Form B Industrial 11mm electrical connector with PWM power-saving technology, designed to substantially reduce the energy consumption and operating temperature of 24VDC solenoid valve coils.

When the solenoid is initially energised, the connector supplies full power for approximately 0.5 seconds to provide reliable valve switching. Once the solenoid has operated, the electronic circuit automatically reduces power consumption by approximately 75%, supplying only the lower holding power required to keep the valve energised.

This significantly reduces continuous energy consumption and coil heat generation, making the connector particularly suitable for solenoid valves that remain energised for extended periods.

PWM Power Saving Operation

The connector uses electronic power control to separate the solenoid coil's initial switching requirement from its much lower holding-power requirement.
Initial energisation → 100% power
After approximately 0.5 seconds → power reduced by 75%
This means the coil receives the high initial power needed to operate the valve, but does not continuously consume that level of power while simply remaining energised.

Benefits of PWM Power Saving

✓ Approximately 75% lower holding power
✓ Significantly reduced coil temperature
✓ Reduced electrical energy consumption
✓ Less heat transferred into the valve
✓ Reduced heat inside control panels
✓ Particularly useful for continuously energised valves
✓ May help extend solenoid coil service life
For applications with multiple continuously energised solenoid valves, the reduction in both electrical consumption and generated heat can become significant.

Reduced Coil Temperature

A conventional solenoid coil continues consuming its normal rated power for as long as it remains energised.
However, considerably less electromagnetic force is normally required to hold an armature after it has already moved into its energised position.
The PWM connector takes advantage of this by reducing holding power after the initial switching period.
Lower continuous power means less heat generated by the coil, which can be particularly beneficial for:
✓ Continuously energised solenoid valves
✓ High ambient temperature installations
✓ Enclosed machinery
✓ Multi-valve installations
✓ Control panels with limited ventilation
✓ Energy-conscious OEM equipment

Why Choose a PWM Power Saving Connector?

Standard solenoid coils can consume full rated power continuously even though full power is primarily needed during initial valve operation.
This Shako connector provides full power for the first 0.5 seconds, then automatically reduces consumption by 75% once the solenoid is energised.
The result is a simple way of reducing both energy consumption and coil operating temperature without requiring a separate external power-saving controller.
For continuously energised valves in particular, that is a genuine practical advantage rather than simply another connector feature.
