1/4" PPA Chemical Solenoid Valve 0–2.5 Bar – GEM SOL PPA1
The GEM SOL PPA1 is a compact 1/4" plastic chemical solenoid valve designed for controlling aggressive and corrosive liquids in chemical dosing, water treatment, fertiliser and process applications.
It uses a 2/2 way normally closed, direct-acting dry-armature design with an isolating diaphragm, providing operation from zero pressure up to 2.5 Bar with the standard 10W coil. A manual override is also available.

Because the PPA1 is direct acting, it requires no minimum differential pressure, making it particularly useful for gravity-fed tanks, dosing equipment and low-pressure chemical systems.

Isolating Diaphragm Design
A major advantage of the PPA1 is its dry-armature construction.
The isolating diaphragm separates the controlled fluid from the solenoid armature mechanism, reducing direct exposure of the moving solenoid components to aggressive chemical media.
This makes the design particularly useful for chemical dosing applications where conventional wet-armature solenoid valves may not be appropriate.

The PPA1 is intended for compatible aggressive chemical fluids. The manufacturer specifically lists:

For potassium nitrate and other specific chemicals, concentration, temperature and compatibility with the selected PPA, stainless steel and elastomer materials should be checked.
Important – Chlorine Service
Although the PPA1 is designed for many aggressive chemical fluids, we do not recommend this valve for chlorine service.
Chemical compatibility should always be assessed using the exact chemical concentration, temperature and selected seal material rather than relying solely on a general acid or alkali classification.
EPDM, FKM or Silicone Seals
Three seal configurations are available:

This is useful because chemical resistance can vary significantly between elastomers.
EPDM may be preferable for many aqueous chemical solutions, while FKM can provide advantages with other chemical groups. Silicone provides an additional option where its particular compatibility and temperature properties are required.
