1½" WRAS Water Solenoid Valve – Danfoss EV220BW


The Danfoss EV220BW 132U4003 is a 1½" WRAS approved brass water solenoid valve designed for dependable control of potable water in larger commercial, industrial and building-services installations.

This 2/2 way normally closed, pressure-assisted valve combines a large 40mm orifice, Kv 24 m³/h flow capacity and 0.3–16 Bar operating pressure with a deliberately controlled closing characteristic to help minimise pressure surges and water hammer.

The 132U4003 supersedes the previous Danfoss 132U4000, providing a useful cross-reference when replacing existing EV220BW valves.

The pressure-assisted diaphragm construction requires a minimum 0.3 Bar differential pressure across the valve for reliable operation.

The large 40mm flow path provides substantial capacity for 1½" pipework, making the EV220BW particularly suitable for high-flow potable-water and industrial water-control systems.

Anti-Water-Hammer Operation

Opening Time: 1.5 Seconds
Closing Time: 4.0 Seconds
The larger 1½" EV220BW uses a deliberately controlled closing profile to reduce sudden changes in water velocity as the valve shuts.
The 4-second closing time helps minimise hydraulic shock and water hammer in larger-bore pipework, where rapid valve closure can otherwise create significant pressure surges.
