Brass 2/2 Normally Closed - Pilot Assisted
Brass 2/2 normally closed pilot operated solenoid valves (also known as pressure assisted solenoid valves) are designed for higher flow applications where system pressure is available to assist valve operation. Unlike direct acting valves, pilot operated solenoid valves require a minimum pressure differential between inlet and outlet (typically around 0.5 bar) to function correctly. When energised, the solenoid opens a pilot orifice, allowing system pressure to lift the diaphragm and fully open the valve. This design enables higher flow rates with lower power consumption. The normally closed (NC) configuration ensures the valve remains shut when de-energised, providing safe and reliable shut-off. Key Features: Pilot operated (pressure assisted design) Normally closed (energise to open) Suitable for higher flow applications Durable brass valve bodies BSP threaded connections Efficient operation with lower power coils Available in multiple voltages including 12V, 24V, 110V & 230V Important Note: Pilot operated valves require a minimum pressure differential and are not suitable for vacuum or zero-pressure applications. For those applications, use direct acting solenoid valves. Typical Applications: Water systems and distribution HVAC and heating systems Irrigation systems Industrial process control Oil and light fluid handling All brass pilot operated solenoid valves are available from UK stock with fast delivery.
