PVC, PP or PTFE Normally Open Solenoid Valve – RSG 150B
The RSG Type 150B is a 2/2 way normally open plastic solenoid valve designed for controlling corrosive acids, alkalis and aggressive process liquids where metallic valve construction may be unsuitable.
Available with PVC, polypropylene (PP) or PTFE valve bodies, the 150B uses an isolating PTFE bellows to separate the solenoid operating mechanism from the process medium. Its direct acting design provides reliable operation from zero differential pressure, while the normally open function allows unrestricted flow when electrical power is removed.
The range covers DN10, DN15 and DN20 with flow rates up to 53 L/min and operating pressures up to 1.6 Bar, according to orifice size.

The RSG 150B remains open when the solenoid is de-energised. Applying electrical power closes the valve and isolates the process flow.
This fail-open function makes the 150B particularly useful where flow needs to continue during a power failure or where the process requires electrical power to maintain the closed condition.
The Type 150B incorporates an isolating PTFE bellows between the process medium and solenoid operating mechanism.

The construction is particularly useful with corrosive fluids because the PTFE bellows helps isolate the conventional solenoid components from aggressive process media.

The direct acting construction means no minimum process pressure or differential pressure is required for valve operation.
Normally Open Chemical Control
The normally open configuration provides a useful alternative to the 150A normally closed valve.
With the 150B:
Power OFF → Valve OPEN
Power ON → Valve CLOSED
This makes the valve suitable for applications where the required electrical fail-state is open, including circulation, cooling, draining and selected chemical process systems.

The RSG 150B is designed for corrosive media compatible with the selected body, seal and PTFE bellows materials.

Chemical compatibility should always be confirmed against the exact chemical, concentration, temperature and all wetted materials.
Seal Options
Available seal materials include:

EPDM can provide good resistance to many compatible water-based chemicals, acids and alkalis.
FKM is suitable for many oils, hydrocarbons and industrial chemicals.
PTFE provides exceptionally broad chemical resistance and can be selected for applications where conventional elastomers are unsuitable.

Media Temperature: +5°C to +50°C Max
Ambient Temperature: 0°C to +50°C
Maximum permissible pressure can depend upon the body material, process temperature and selected sealing materials.
The pressure/temperature relationship should therefore be considered when using thermoplastic valve bodies at elevated temperatures.
