ABVM Auto Return Motorised Ball Valves ABVM Auto Return (AR) motorised ball valves are designed to automatically return to a predetermined safe position whenever electrical power is removed. Instead of relying on a spring mechanism, the actuator stores electrical energy within high-capacity reserve capacitors, allowing the valve to drive safely back to its start position before remaining securely in place without continuous power. During normal operation the actuator uses power only whilst moving the valve, automatically switching itself off once the required position has been reached. In the event of a power failure, the stored reserve energy returns the valve to its fail-safe position, making the ABVM/AR series ideal for safety-critical systems where automatic shut-off or automatic opening is required. Available with Fail Closed or Fail Open operation, the range includes brass, stainless steel, PVC and UPVC ball valves in both 2-way and 3-way configurations from 1/4" to 1", with optional position feedback switches, manual override and WRAS approved models.
