Description
3/4" Aggressive Media Solenoid Valve PTFE, PVC or PP – 160A20
The 160A20 is a chemically resistant 2/2 way normally closed solenoid valve designed for controlling acids, alkalis, water and other aggressive industrial fluids.
Available with PVC, polypropylene (PP) or PTFE valve bodies, the valve can be configured to suit a wide range of chemical processing, dosing and fluid-control applications.
The pressure-assisted diaphragm design incorporates a PTFE isolating bellows, creating a dry-armature arrangement that separates the stainless steel solenoid components from the process media. This provides additional protection when controlling corrosive or aggressive fluids.
With a large 20mm orifice and 0.3–6 Bar operating pressure range, the 160A20 provides substantially higher flow capacity than the smaller DN15 version while retaining the same chemically resistant construction.
Valve Function & Operation
Function: 2/2 way normally closed
Operation: Pressure assisted / servo assisted
Valve Design: Diaphragm seat valve
Armature Design: PTFE bellows isolated dry armature

Construction & Materials
Body Options:
✓ PVC
✓ Polypropylene (PP)
✓ PTFE
Solenoid Tube: Stainless steel
Internal Parts: Stainless steel
Armature Isolation: PTFE bellows
Seal Options: EPDM or FKM
The manufacturer's construction specification confirms PVC, PP or PTFE bodies together with stainless steel tube/internal parts, PTFE bellows and EPDM or FKM seals.
Media Compatibility
Suitable for compatible:
✓ Acids
✓ Alkalis
✓ Water
✓ Chemical dosing fluids
✓ Aggressive chemicals
✓ Corrosive process liquids
✓ Compatible gases
Maximum Media Viscosity: 50 cSt
Chemical compatibility should always be checked against the selected PVC, PP or PTFE body and EPDM or FKM seals, particularly with concentrated chemicals or elevated media temperatures.
Temperature
Ambient Temperature: 0°C to +50°C
The allowable media temperature depends upon the selected body and elastomer combination. The Type 160 manufacturer specification refers to the pressure/temperature graph and elastomer temperature ranges rather than specifying one universal maximum media temperature for every PVC, PP and PTFE configuration.
Coil & Electrical
Solenoid Coil: Nass Magnet 13/30 / 22003
DC Power: 15 Watt
AC Power: 23VA inrush / 17VA holding
Insulation: Class H 180°C
Duty Rating: 100% continuous
Protection: IP65 with connector fitted
Electrical Connection: DIN 43650A
Voltage Options
12V DC

Why Choose the 160A20?
The 160A20 combines a large 20mm flow path with chemically resistant PVC, PP or PTFE construction and a PTFE bellows-isolated dry armature. This prevents the aggressive process media from entering the solenoid armature chamber and makes the valve particularly useful where conventional brass or stainless steel solenoid valves may have insufficient chemical resistance.
With a 0.3–6 Bar pressure range, Kv 9.8 m³/h and optional ATEX configuration, the 160A20 provides a high-flow solution for demanding chemical dosing and industrial process applications.
