UNF Flare Refrigerant Solenoid Valve 0.05–30 Bar – RSG 216-DN12-BU
The RSG 216-DN12-BU is a 2/2 way refrigerant solenoid valve with male UNF flare connections, designed for refrigeration, heat pump and cooling systems using conventional flared refrigerant pipe connections.
The valve combines a 12mm orifice, pressure-assisted piston operation and a wide 0.05 to 30 Bar operating range. Four UNF flare sizes are available for tube diameters from 6mm to 16mm or 1/4" to 5/8" OD.
Normally closed operation is standard, with a normally open version available.

The pressure-assisted piston design provides high flow through the 12mm orifice while requiring only a very low 0.05 Bar differential pressure for operation.
Male UNF Flare Connections
The 216-DN12-BU uses male UNF flare connections for direct connection to suitable flared refrigeration tubing.

This makes the BU version particularly useful for refrigeration equipment where removable mechanical flare connections are preferred to soldered or brazed joints.

The Kv values are based on water with a pressure differential of 1 Bar.

The wide media temperature range makes the DN12-BU suitable for both low-temperature refrigeration service and higher-temperature sections of refrigeration and heat-pump systems.

Normally Open Option
The standard valve is normally closed, preventing refrigerant flow when electrical power is removed.
A normally open version is available where the system requires refrigerant flow in the de-energised state.
This allows the same valve platform to be used for different control and fail-state requirements.
Mounting Provision
The valve body incorporates M4 mounting holes for secure mechanical installation within refrigeration equipment.
Supporting the valve independently can reduce mechanical loading on the flare connections and associated pipework.
