Description

1/4" 3/2 Way High Pressure Solenoid Valve 0–40 Bar – CDL32.040

The CDL32.040 is a compact 1/4" 3/2 way high-pressure solenoid valve designed for reliable directional control of air, water, gases and compatible process fluids at pressures from zero to 40 Bar.

Featuring a direct-acting 3/2 way normally closed design, the valve requires no minimum pressure differential, making it suitable for both zero-pressure and high-pressure applications. A fast switching time of ≤20 milliseconds makes the CDL32.040 particularly suitable for industrial automation, pneumatic control, test equipment and high-pressure process systems.

Supplied as standard with a brass body, stainless steel internals and PTFE seals, the valve is also available with a stainless steel body for applications requiring increased corrosion resistance.

Valve Function & Operation

Function: 3/2 way normally closed
Operation: Direct acting
Pressure differential: Zero-rated
Optional function: Manual override
The direct-acting design operates independently of system pressure and therefore requires no minimum pressure differential.
This provides reliable switching throughout the complete 0–40 Bar operating range.

Ports & Connections

Port size: 1/4" BSP
Optional thread: NPT
The compact 1/4" connection makes the CDL32.040 suitable for high-pressure control circuits where installation space is limited.
Pressure & Performance
Operating pressure: 0 to 40 Bar
Orifice: 2.0mm
Flow rate: 1.8 L/min water @ 1 Bar ΔP
Opening time: ≤20 milliseconds
Closing time: ≤20 milliseconds
Maximum media temperature: +100°C
Maximum media viscosity: 40 cSt
The combination of zero-rated operation, 40 Bar pressure capability and rapid ≤20ms switching makes this valve particularly useful for applications requiring precise and responsive high-pressure directional control.

Construction & Materials

Body: Brass
Optional body: Stainless steel
Internal components: Stainless steel
Seals: PTFE
PTFE sealing provides broad chemical compatibility and makes the valve suitable for a wide variety of industrial fluids and gases compatible with the valve materials.

Media Compatibility

Suitable for:
✓ Compressed air
✓ Water
✓ Compatible gases
✓ Compatible process fluids
✓ Fluids up to 40 cSt
Media compatibility should always be confirmed against the brass or stainless steel body, stainless steel internals and PTFE seals before ordering.

Coil & Electrical

Standard coil: 31400
Power: 14–20W
Electrical connection: DIN43650A
Insulation: Class F, 155°C
Protection: IP65
Duty cycle: 100% continuous
The industrial DIN43650A electrical connection allows straightforward coil replacement and connection to standard automation and control systems.

Compact 3/2 Way High Pressure Design

The CDL32.040 combines 3/2 way directional control with direct-acting operation and pressures up to 40 Bar in a compact 1/4" valve.
Unlike pressure-assisted designs, it operates from 0 Bar without a minimum differential pressure, while the ≤20ms switching time provides rapid response for automated equipment and high-speed control applications.
With brass or optional stainless steel construction, PTFE sealing, optional manual override and an ATEX operator option, the CDL32.040 provides a versatile solution for demanding industrial high-pressure control systems.
