2" Normally Open Brass Solenoid Valve 0.5–10 Bar – SHAKO PU225AN-20
The SHAKO PU225AN-20 is an extra-high-flow 2" BSP normally open brass solenoid valve designed for automatic control of water, compressed air, light oils and compatible industrial fluids. Featuring a pressure-assisted diaphragm, large 50mm orifice and Kv flow factor of 600 L/min, this 2/2 way valve provides excellent flow capacity across a differential pressure range of 0.5 to 10 bar.
Designed for fail-open operation, the PU225AN-20 remains open when electrical power is removed and closes when energised. This makes it particularly suitable for industrial cooling water circuits, large-scale water circulation systems, compressed air distribution and process applications where fluid flow must continue following an electrical power failure.
Manufactured by SHAKO, the valve combines a robust brass body, stainless steel internal components and interchangeable diaphragm materials with reliable industrial solenoid operation.
Normally Open Valve Operation
The PU225AN-20 operates as a 2/2 way normally open solenoid valve using a pressure-assisted diaphragm mechanism.
Power OFF → Valve OPEN, allowing fluid to flow.
Power ON → Valve CLOSED, stopping fluid flow.
Power Failure → Valve returns to its normally open position, provided the required differential pressure conditions are maintained.
The pressure-assisted design requires a minimum differential pressure of 0.5 bar for reliable operation.
This valve is not suitable for gravity-fed or zero-pressure applications without sufficient pressure differential.
Extra-High-Flow Performance
The 2" PU225AN-20 features a large 50mm internal orifice and Kv flow factor of 600 L/min, making it particularly suitable for high-volume industrial fluid control.

The large internal flow passage provides high flow capacity for cooling water circulation, industrial process water, compressed air systems and automated fluid distribution.
The Kv value represents the valve's nominal flow coefficient under reference conditions, rather than a guaranteed flow rate in every installation.

These temperature ranges depend on the selected diaphragm material. The permissible temperature of the complete valve assembly may be lower depending on the solenoid coil, operating conditions and selected configuration.
