DN25 to DN50 High Temperature Steam Solenoid Valve – 0.5 to 20 Bar
The CS Fluid Power NOSAF Series is a heavy-duty 2/2 way normally open flanged brass steam solenoid valve designed for reliable control of steam, hot water, air, light oils and other compatible industrial fluids.
Its servo-assisted piston design provides high flow capacity across DN25 to DN50 sizes. The valve remains open without electrical power and closes when energised, making it particularly useful where a fail-open valve function is required.
Available with PN16 flanges as standard, plus optional ANSI 150Lb and JIS10K connections, the NOSAF Series provides steam operation from 0.5 to 12 Bar and air/water service up to 20 Bar. The manufacturer specifies 25–50 mm orifices and flow from 220 to 800 L/min, depending on valve size.
Valve Function & Operation
Function: 2/2 way normally open
Operation: Servo-assisted / pressure-assisted piston
Fail position: Open
The NOSAF is open in its normal de-energised condition, allowing media to flow through the valve. Applying electrical power to the solenoid operator closes the valve.
This normally open / energise-to-close function is particularly useful for applications where flow should continue if electrical power is removed.
The servo-assisted design requires a minimum 0.5 Bar pressure differential for correct operation.

Why Choose a Normally Open Steam Valve?
The NOSAF provides an important alternative to the more common normally closed steam solenoid valve.
Because the valve is open when de-energised and closes when powered, it is suitable where the required safe or default condition is continued flow rather than automatic isolation.
The pressure-assisted piston design provides substantially greater flow capacity than would normally be practical with a large direct-acting solenoid valve, with the DN50 model providing up to 800 L/min water flow at 1 Bar pressure drop.
For steam applications, the range operates from 0.5 to 12 Bar, while the optional Class N coil extends the maximum media temperature capability to +200°C.
