Miniature 5/2 Way Solenoid Valve – Shako PM521AS / PM521BS
The Shako PM521AS and PM521BS are ultra-compact 10mm wide 5/2 way single solenoid pneumatic valves designed for controlling miniature double-acting pneumatic cylinders and actuators where installation space is limited.
Featuring internal pilot operation, spring return and an exceptionally low-power solenoid, the PM521 Series is ideal for compact automation equipment, OEM machinery, instrumentation and multi-station pneumatic control systems.
The PM521AS provides body-ported M3 connections for individual installation, while the PM521BS is designed for base mounting onto an M5 manifold system.

Single Solenoid Operation
The PM521 uses a single solenoid with internal pilot operation and spring return.
When the solenoid is energised, pilot pressure shifts the main spool to direct compressed air to one side of the double-acting pneumatic cylinder while exhausting the opposite side.
When electrical power is removed, the spring returns the spool to its normal position, reversing the airflow and returning the actuator to its corresponding position.
The internally piloted design provides high pneumatic performance from an exceptionally compact 10mm-wide valve.
PM521AS – Body Ported
The PM521AS incorporates M3 pneumatic connections directly into the valve body, making it suitable for individual installation in compact pneumatic equipment.
Its extremely small dimensions make it particularly useful for OEM machinery, instrumentation and applications where conventional pneumatic valves are too large.
PM521BS – Base Mounted
The PM521BS is designed for base mounting onto the compatible M5 manifold system.
This allows multiple PM521 valves to be installed together in a very compact multi-station assembly, reducing tubing, installation space and pneumatic connections.
Manifold Options
PM521 manifold systems can be configured with multiple valve stations for compact machine control installations.
The manufacturer's dimensional drawing shows manifold configurations extending from 2 through 10 stations, with other station quantities available through the ordering system.
