Description
Shako SCP Non-Contact Pneumatic Suction Pad – 10mm to 50mm
The Shako SCP Series is a compact non-contact pneumatic suction pad designed to lift and transfer delicate, porous, uneven or easily marked workpieces using compressed air.
Unlike a conventional vacuum suction cup that must seal directly against the workpiece, the SCP uses compressed air to generate a lifting effect while maintaining non-contact handling. This helps prevent fingerprints, surface marks and damage to delicate components. The manufacturer's function diagram shows compressed air entering centrally, exhausting radially and generating the lifting vacuum beneath the pad.
Available in 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 30mm and 50mm diameters, with lifting forces up to approximately 9N depending on model and supply pressure, the SCP Series is particularly suitable for automated pick-and-place, electronics, semiconductor, food, printing and material-handling applications.
Non-Contact Pneumatic Operation
Operating principle: Compressed-air non-contact lifting
Media: Compressed air
Operating pressure: 1–7 Bar (0.1–0.7 MPa)
The pad does not require a conventional vacuum pump or vacuum generator. Compressed air flowing through the pad creates the lifting effect required to hold the workpiece without conventional suction-cup contact.
This makes the SCP particularly useful where direct contact with the product surface is undesirable.
Available Sizes
SCP10 – 10mm diameter
SCP15 – 15mm diameter
SCP20 – 20mm diameter
SCP30 – 30mm diameter
SCP50 – 50mm diameter
The manufacturer's lifting-force graph shows progressively greater lifting capacity as pad diameter and supply pressure increase, with the SCP50 providing the highest lifting force at approximately 9N.
Air Connections
SCP10 – M3 air port
SCP15 – M3 air port
SCP20 – M5 air port
SCP30 – M5 air port
SCP50 – G1/8 air port
Mounting arrangements vary according to model size.
Construction & Operating Conditions
Body material: Aluminium alloy
Media: Compressed air
Operating pressure: 1–7 Bar
Ambient temperature: -20°C to +60°C
Compact aluminium construction makes the SCP Series suitable for installation on robotic handling equipment, automated machinery and compact pick-and-place systems.
Why Use a Non-Contact Suction Pad?
Conventional vacuum cups generally require direct contact and an adequate sealing surface. The SCP Series provides an alternative for workpieces where this is difficult or undesirable.
✓ Helps prevent fingerprints
✓ Minimises surface marking
✓ Handles uneven surfaces
✓ Suitable for workpieces with holes
✓ No conventional vacuum supply required
✓ Ideal for delicate components
Typical Applications
The SCP Series is particularly suited to automated handling of delicate or difficult-to-grip products.
