Description
1/2" PVC Solenoid Valve for Chemical Dosing – UDC15
The UDC15 is a compact 1/2" 2/2 way normally closed solenoid valve designed for controlling strong acids, alkalis and corrosive chemical fluids compatible with PVC and PTFE.
Featuring a corrosion-resistant PVC valve body, PTFE sealing system and isolated dry-armature construction, the UDC15 helps protect the solenoid mechanism from aggressive process media. The manufacturer specifies the PVC UDC range for strong acid and strong alkali service, with PVC body corrosion resistance stated as pH 3–11.
The zero-pressure assisted-lift design operates from 0 Bar without requiring a minimum pressure differential. With a 6.5mm orifice and 4.7 L/min water flow at 1 Bar pressure drop, the UDC15 is particularly suitable for chemical dosing, water treatment and industrial process applications.
Valve Function & Operation
Function: 2/2 way normally closed
Operation: Assisted lift
Design: Isolated dry armature
Normal Position: Closed when de-energised
Energised Position: Open
Minimum Differential Pressure: 0 Bar
The UDC family is specified by the manufacturer as a dry-armature, normally closed assisted-lift design operating from zero differential pressure.
This makes the UDC15 useful for low-pressure chemical dosing and process systems where conventional pilot-operated valves requiring inlet pressure may be unsuitable.
Ports & Connections
Port Size: 1/2" BSP
Optional Thread: NPT
The 1/2" connection provides a compact chemical-resistant valve solution for dosing equipment, water treatment systems, laboratory equipment and OEM machinery.
Pressure & Performance
Operating Pressure: 0 to 1 Bar
Minimum Differential Pressure: 0 Bar
Orifice: 6.5mm
Water Flow: 4.7 L/min at 1 Bar pressure drop
Maximum Media Viscosity: 20 cSt
Vacuum: Not suitable
Construction & Materials
Body: PVC
Seals: PTFE
Diaphragm: NBR with PTFE coating
Solenoid Tube: Stainless steel
Armature: 430F stainless steel
Shading Ring: Copper
Coil Housing: Resin or metal
The manufacturer specifies the PVC body with corrosion resistance approximately pH 3–11. The alternative UDC-TF versions use a PTFE body and are specified across approximately pH 0–14.
Chemical & Media Compatibility
Suitable for compatible:
✓ Strong acids
✓ Strong alkalis
✓ Hydrochloric acid (HCl)
✓ Sulphuric acid (H₂SO₄)
✓ Chemical dosing fluids
✓ Water-treatment chemicals
✓ Corrosive process liquids
✓ Compatible gases
The process media must be chemically compatible with the PVC body, PTFE sealing components and other wetted materials.
For highly concentrated chemicals or applications outside the useful chemical resistance of PVC, the PTFE-bodied UDC-TF version should be considered.

Why Choose the UDC15?
The UDC15 combines a corrosion-resistant PVC body, PTFE sealing system and isolated dry-armature construction with true zero-pressure operation.
Its 1/2" connection makes it easy to integrate into common chemical dosing and process pipework, while the 0 Bar minimum pressure allows operation in low-pressure and gravity-fed systems where conventional pilot-operated solenoid valves may not function reliably.
For more aggressive chemical applications, the equivalent PTFE-bodied UDC15TF provides greater chemical resistance.
