1/4" 5/2 Way External Pilot Solenoid Valve – PU520A-02S
The Shako PU520A-02S is a high-flow 1/4" 5/2 way single solenoid pneumatic valve featuring external air pilot operation for reliable directional control of double-acting pneumatic cylinders and actuators.
Unlike a conventional internally piloted solenoid valve, the PU520A uses a separate external pilot air supply to operate the valve spool. This makes it particularly suitable for specialised pneumatic circuits, vacuum equipment and applications where the main supply pressure is unsuitable for conventional internal pilot operation.
With an 18mm² effective flow area, compact 26mm aluminium body, lockable manual override, IP65 coil protection and manifold mounting capability, the PU520A provides dependable control for industrial automation, OEM machinery and pneumatic control systems.

The external pilot operating range of approximately 1.5 to 8 Bar and the inlet pilot must be at least 1.5 Bar higher than the external pilot pressure.

External Pilot Valve Operation
Energising the solenoid controls the external pilot air supply, which shifts the main valve spool and directs compressed air to one side of the double-acting pneumatic cylinder or actuator while exhausting the opposite side.
When electrical power is removed, the valve returns to its normal position.
Because the pilot supply is independent of the main pneumatic supply, the PU520A can be used in applications where conventional internally piloted valves may not operate correctly.
The lockable manual override allows the valve to be operated during commissioning, maintenance and functional testing without energising the solenoid.
