1/2"–2" 3-Way UPVC Pneumatic Ball Valve – L/T Port
The 3-Way UPVC Pneumatic Ball Valve is a corrosion-resistant air actuated valve designed for diverting, mixing and flow selection in water, chemical and general industrial fluid control systems.
Available from 1/2" to 2" BSP (DN15–DN50), the valve combines a durable UPVC body with a pneumatic rack-and-pinion actuator. Both double acting and spring return single acting configurations are available, allowing the valve to be selected for standard powered operation or applications requiring a defined fail position.
Available with L Port or T Port ball configurations, the valve provides flexible three-way flow control for water treatment, chemical dosing, process equipment, cooling systems and industrial automation.
Valve Function & Operation
This valve provides three-way flow control using either an L Port or T Port internal ball.
L Port configurations are typically used to divert flow between two alternative flow paths.
T Port configurations provide additional flow-routing possibilities and can be used for diverting, mixing or distribution duties depending on the required ball orientation and actuator rotation.
The valve is pneumatically operated and can be supplied with either:
Double Acting – compressed air is used to drive the actuator in both directions.
Spring Return Single Acting – compressed air drives the actuator in one direction, with spring force providing the return movement when the air signal is removed.

The valve can be installed in any position, providing flexibility when incorporated into compact pipework and automated process systems.
Construction & Materials
The valve body is manufactured from UPVC, providing good corrosion resistance while keeping the complete automated valve assembly relatively lightweight.
Valve sealing incorporates PTFE with EPDM or FKM elastomer seals, allowing the sealing configuration to be selected according to the controlled media and operating temperature.
Seal & Media Compatibility
EPDM is generally selected for water and many compatible aqueous fluids.
FKM (Viton) is available where its chemical and temperature compatibility is better suited to the process medium.
Because chemical compatibility depends on the exact fluid, concentration, temperature and operating conditions, seal and UPVC compatibility should be confirmed for aggressive chemicals before ordering.

Media temperature range: -15°C to +60°C
For chemical applications, the allowable working pressure and material compatibility should also be considered at the actual operating temperature.

A NAMUR-mounted solenoid valve can be added to provide direct electrical control of the pneumatic actuator.
L Port or T Port Options
Selecting the correct ball configuration is important for three-way applications.
L Port → Primarily used to divert flow from one inlet to either of two outlets, or select between two inlet lines.
T Port → Provides more flexible three-way flow arrangements and can allow mixing, diverting or multiple connected flow paths depending on the selected operating positions.

Automation Options
The modular valve and actuator design allows the assembly to be configured with additional pneumatic control equipment where required, including NAMUR solenoid valves for electrical switching of the actuator.
Spring-return versions can be selected where a defined valve position is required following loss of pneumatic control pressure.
