DN15-DN50 3 Way UPVC Modulating Ball Valve – ABV3P/9M
The ABV3P/9M Series 3-way UPVC modulating ball valve provides proportional control of flow direction, diversion and mixing using a precision electric actuator with analogue control and position feedback.
Available from 1/2" (DN15) to 2" (DN50), the valve combines a corrosion-resistant true union UPVC body with a continuously adjustable electric actuator accepting 4–20mA, 0–10V or 0–5V control signals.
Unlike a conventional open/close 3-way valve, the ABV3P/9M can position the ball throughout its operating range, allowing the flow path to be progressively adjusted in response to a PLC, BMS, process controller or other analogue control signal.
Available with T-port or L-port configurations for mixing, diverting, changeover and proportional process-control applications.
T Port & L Port Flow Control
The internal ball configuration determines how the three valve ports are interconnected as the actuator changes position.
T Port
T-port valves provide multiple flow-path possibilities and are particularly suitable for mixing, diverting and applications requiring communication between more than two ports.
Four T-port flow patterns are available:

L Port
L-port valves provide directional changeover between alternative flow paths and can be progressively positioned by the modulating actuator.
The correct ball pattern should be selected according to the required flow paths and actuator positions.
Proportional Modulating Control
The ABV3P/9M converts an analogue control signal into a corresponding valve position.
Control signal options:
4–20mA
0–10V
0–5V
Rather than simply moving fully open or fully closed, the actuator positions the 3-way ball according to the incoming command signal.
This makes the valve suitable for automated systems requiring proportional positioning, flow-path adjustment, mixing or diversion.
Position Feedback
A 4–20mA analogue position feedback signal is provided, allowing the actual actuator position to be monitored independently by the control system.

Fault & Status Output
In addition to analogue position feedback, the actuator provides a status/fault output for integration with external monitoring systems.
Normal operation: 3.3V
Fault condition: 0V
Common: Blue – Negative
This allows the control system to distinguish between normal actuator operation and a detected fault condition.
True Union UPVC Ball Valve
The true union construction allows the centre valve assembly to be removed from the pipeline without disturbing the adjoining pipework.
This simplifies inspection, cleaning, seal replacement and maintenance, particularly in chemical dosing and water-treatment equipment.

Seal & Media Selection
EPDM is suitable for water and many dilute chemical solutions where EPDM is chemically compatible with the process medium.
FKM (Viton®) provides an alternative for applications involving media where EPDM is unsuitable.

Manual Override

The visual position indicator provides immediate local confirmation of actuator position.

Modulating vs Open/Close Control
The ABV3P/9M Modulating Series is intended for applications requiring intermediate valve positioning rather than simple end-to-end switching.
Choose the modulating version where the control system needs to:

✓ Receive analogue position feedback
✓ Integrate with PLC, BMS or SCADA control
For applications requiring only fixed-position switching or power-failure return, the standard ABV3P open/close and failsafe series is generally the more appropriate choice.
Fully Assembled & Tested
Each ABV3P/9M is supplied as a complete motorised valve assembly.
The actuator is mounted and aligned to the selected T-port or L-port valve configuration and the complete assembly is function tested before dispatch, reducing installation and commissioning work on site.
