3/8" Normally Open Brass Solenoid Valve 0.5–10 Bar – SHAKO PU225AN-03
The SHAKO PU225AN-03 is a compact, high-flow 3/8" BSP normally open brass solenoid valve designed for reliable automatic control of water, compressed air, light oils and compatible industrial fluids. Featuring a pressure-assisted diaphragm, 13mm orifice and Kv flow factor of 40 L/min, this 2/2 way valve operates across a differential pressure range of 0.5 to 10 bar.
Designed for fail-open applications, the PU225AN-03 remains open when de-energised and closes when electrical power is applied. This makes it particularly suitable for cooling water circuits, industrial machinery, compressed air equipment and applications where fluid flow is required during an electrical power failure.
Manufactured by SHAKO, the valve combines a durable brass body, stainless steel internal components and interchangeable diaphragm materials with a continuously rated Nass Magnet solenoid coil.
Normally Open Valve Operation
The PU225AN-03 is a 2/2 way normally open solenoid valve operating through a pressure-assisted diaphragm mechanism.
Power OFF → Valve OPEN, allowing fluid flow.
Power ON → Valve CLOSED, stopping fluid flow.
Power Failure → Valve returns to its normally open position, subject to the required operating conditions.
Unlike direct acting solenoid valves, the pressure-assisted PU225AN-03 requires a minimum differential pressure of 0.5 bar for reliable operation.
It is therefore unsuitable for zero-pressure or gravity-fed applications where the required pressure differential cannot be maintained.
