Shako PU220 / SPU220 Normally Open Solenoid Valve Seal & Repair Kit
The Shako ZGPU220AN normally open seal and repair kit is designed for genuine PU220 brass and SPU220 stainless steel 2/2 way normally open solenoid valves, including NOPU220A and NOSPU220A versions.
The complete service kit includes the normally open plunger, diaphragm with connecting spring, armature O-ring and valve body O-ring, providing the principal internal sealing and operating components required when servicing an existing valve.
Available in NBR, EPDM, FKM/Viton or HNBR, with kits covering 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" valve sizes.

Each seal kit consists of:

This allows the principal internal sealing and moving components to be replaced together during valve maintenance or refurbishment.
Seal Material Options
NBR – Nitrile
Temperature Range: -15°C to +80°C
A general-purpose elastomer for compatible air, water, oils and industrial fluids.
EPDM
Temperature Range: -5°C to +130°C
Commonly selected for water and compatible aqueous fluids.
FKM / Viton
Temperature Range: -10°C to +150°C
Provides good resistance to many compatible oils, fuels and industrial process fluids.
HNBR
Temperature Range: -40°C to +150°C
Provides a particularly wide temperature range together with good mechanical and chemical resistance for compatible media.
Always select the seal material according to the controlled fluid, concentration and actual operating conditions.

Diaphragm Diameter: 46mm
Suitable for 3/8" and 1/2" PU220 / SPU220 normally open valves.
22006 – 3/4" Valve
Diaphragm Diameter: 56mm
Suitable for 3/4" PU220 / SPU220 normally open valves.
22008 – 1" Valve
Diaphragm Diameter: 70mm
Suitable for 1" PU220 / SPU220 normally open valves.
Selecting the Correct Repair Kit
Select the kit according to the existing valve port size:
3/8" → 22003 → 46mm diaphragm
1/2" → 22003 → 46mm diaphragm
3/4" → 22006 → 56mm diaphragm
1" → 22008 → 70mm diaphragm
Then select the required seal material:
✓ NBR
✓ EPDM
✓ FKM / Viton
✓ HNBR
Normally Open Operation
These kits are specifically intended for 2/2 way normally open / failsafe open PU220 and SPU220 valves.
With electrical power removed, the valve is designed to remain in its normal open position.
When the solenoid is energised, the normally open armature mechanism operates the pilot system to close the valve.
This is important when ordering replacement parts because the normally open plunger arrangement differs from the normally closed PU220 / SPU220 version.
Brass & Stainless Steel Compatibility
The same repair kit range can be used with genuine Shako:
PU220 Series → Brass body solenoid valves
SPU220 Series → Stainless steel body solenoid valves
This makes the ZGPU220AN repair kits useful where both brass and stainless versions are installed on the same site.
Maintenance & Repair
A replacement seal kit may be required where an existing valve shows symptoms such as:

✓ Worn or damaged diaphragm
✓ Sticking plunger
✓ Slow or unreliable operation
✓ Damaged O-rings
✓ Contaminated internal components

Replacing the diaphragm, plunger and associated O-rings together provides a more comprehensive repair than replacing the diaphragm alone.
Always isolate the electrical supply, fluid supply and system pressure before dismantling the valve.
