Description
Shako ZGUX Semi-Automatic Drain Valve – FRL Filter Bowls
Genuine Shako ZGUX series semi-automatic condensate drain valve for compatible Shako compressed-air filters and FRL air treatment units.
The semi-automatic drain removes accumulated water and oil condensate from the filter bowl when system pressure falls below 0.5 Bar (7 psi). The drain can also be manually operated when required, providing convenient condensate removal during normal servicing and maintenance.
Available in three versions to suit standard polycarbonate, aluminium and stainless steel Shako filter bowls.

Manual Operation: Yes
During normal pressurised operation, the drain remains closed. When system pressure falls below approximately 0.5 Bar (7 psi), accumulated condensate can be discharged automatically.
The drain can also be manually operated when condensate needs to be removed without waiting for system pressure to fall.
Unlike the standard ZGUX manual drain, the semi-automatic versions therefore provide both automatic low-pressure draining and manual operation.

ZGUX-2 – Polycarbonate Bowl
Fits compatible Shako FRL series equipped with the standard bowl, excluding aluminium and stainless steel bowl versions.
ZGUX-1 – Aluminium Bowl
Designed for Shako FRL units fitted with an aluminium filter bowl.
ZGUX-3 – Stainless Steel Bowl
Designed for Shako stainless steel USF, USFR, USFRL and USFR/L series filter units.
Select the appropriate drain according to the filter bowl fitted to your existing Shako FRL unit.

Why Use a Semi-Automatic Drain?
Compressed-air filters collect water, oil and other contamination removed from the air supply. If condensate is allowed to accumulate excessively, it can reduce the effective capacity of the filter bowl and potentially carry contamination downstream.
A semi-automatic drain provides a convenient method of discharging condensate when system pressure is released, while retaining the ability to drain the bowl manually when required.

Maintenance
Inspect the filter bowl and drain periodically to ensure condensate is being discharged correctly.
Before removing or replacing the drain assembly, isolate the compressed-air supply and fully depressurise the filter bowl.
Always select the correct ZGUX-1, ZGUX-2 or ZGUX-3 version for the bowl material fitted.
