Description
3/8" WRAS Water Solenoid Valve 0.35–16 Bar – ASCO Sirai L182D01
The ASCO Sirai L182D01 is a 3/8" BSP WRAS approved brass solenoid valve designed for potable water, hot water services, water treatment equipment and industrial water-control applications.
This 2/2 way normally closed, pilot-operated diaphragm valve combines a large 13.5mm orifice, Kv of 2.5 m³/h and a working differential pressure range of 0.35 to 16 Bar. The EPDM version uses a WRAS certified sealing compound and is suitable for water temperatures up to +140°C.
Valve Function & Operation
Function: 2/2 Way Normally Closed
Operation: Pilot / Pressure Assisted
Design: Full Orifice Diaphragm Valve
Minimum Differential Pressure: 0.35 Bar
Maximum Differential Pressure: 16 Bar
Maximum Allowable Pressure (PS): 20 Bar
The pressure-assisted diaphragm design provides a relatively large flow capacity from a compact 3/8" valve, but requires at least 0.35 Bar pressure differential for reliable operation.
3/8" BSPP Connection
Port Size: 3/8" BSPP Female
Thread Standard: ISO 228
Orifice: 13.5mm
Kv Flow Factor: 2.5 m³/h
The combination of a 13.5mm internal orifice and Kv 2.5 m³/h provides high water-flow capacity for a compact 3/8" threaded valve.
WRAS Approved EPDM Seals
The L182D01 uses EPDM sealing material manufactured from a WRAS certified compound for potable-water applications.
✓ Latest WRAS Approval No. 250702716
✓ Approval Valid Until 31 July 2030
Body: Brass
Internal Components: Brass & Stainless Steel
Core Tube: Stainless Steel
Seal Material: EPDM
Seat: Brass
The brass and stainless steel construction provides a robust industrial valve while the EPDM sealing system provides the required potable-water compatibility.
Potable & Hot Water Applications
The EPDM version is particularly useful for compatible:
✓ Potable Water
✓ Hot Water
✓ Process Water
✓ Water Treatment Systems
✓ Commercial Water Systems
✓ Heating Water Circuits
✓ OEM Water Equipment
Maximum Media Viscosity: 37 cSt
For liquids other than water, compatibility with the brass, stainless steel and EPDM wetted materials should be confirmed.
High Temperature EPDM Version
Media Temperature:
-10°C to +140°C with EPDM
Ambient Temperature:
-10°C to +60°C
This wide media-temperature capability makes the EPDM L182D01 particularly useful for hot-water applications where many standard potable-water solenoid valves have much lower temperature limits.
Fast Opening Performance
Opening Time: 70ms
Closing Time: 670ms
The relatively controlled closing time is useful in water systems because it avoids the extremely abrupt shut-off associated with very fast direct-acting valves.
Solenoid Coil
DC Power: 5.5 Watts
AC Power:
12VA Inrush
6VA Holding
Duty Cycle: ED 100% Continuous
Insulation: Class F
Electrical Connection: 3-Pole Plug Connector
Protection: IP65 with Connector
The standard coil is suitable for continuous-duty industrial operation.
Voltage Options
DC:
✓ 12V DC
✓ 24V DC
AC:
✓ 24V AC
✓ 115V AC
✓ 230V AC
Other voltages and frequencies are available on request.
Low Power Coil Option
A low-power coil is also available on request:
DC Power: 3 Watts
AC Power: 3.5VA
With the low-power coil, the maximum differential pressure is reduced to 12 Bar on this 3/8" version.
This provides an alternative for applications where reducing continuous electrical consumption and coil temperature is more important than retaining the full 16 Bar pressure capability.
Installation
The L182 can be installed in any mounting position, although installation with the coil vertically upwards is preferred.
Compact Dimensions & Weight
For the 3/8" version:
Overall Length: 60mm
Overall Height: 77mm
Overall Width: 40mm
Weight: Approximately 0.32kg
This compact construction makes the valve particularly useful inside OEM equipment and installations where available space is limited.
Typical Applications
✓ Potable Water Systems
✓ Commercial Water Installations
✓ Hot Water Distribution
✓ Water Treatment Equipment
✓ Industrial Process Water
✓ OEM Machinery
✓ Washdown Systems
✓ Heating Water Systems
✓ General Water Shut-Off
✓ Building Services
Why Choose the ASCO Sirai L182D01?
The L182D01 combines WRAS approved EPDM seals, high flow capacity and a wide operating temperature range in a compact 3/8" brass valve.
Its 13.5mm orifice and Kv 2.5 m³/h provide excellent flow for the connection size, while the 0.35–16 Bar differential pressure range covers a broad range of commercial and industrial water systems.
The ability to handle EPDM-compatible water service up to +140°C, combined with continuous-duty operation and proven ASCO Sirai construction, makes the L182D01 particularly useful where a conventional low-temperature potable-water valve would be unsuitable.
Available L182 Sizes
3/8" BSP – Kv 2.5 m³/h
1/2" BSP – Kv 3.8 m³/h
3/4" BSP – Kv 5 m³/h
1" BSP – Kv 12 m³/h
The larger L182 sizes provide progressively higher flow capacity for larger water systems.
