1/4" PPA Chemical Solenoid Valve Normally Open – GEM SOL PPA2
The GEM SOL PPA2 is a compact 1/4" normally open plastic chemical solenoid valve designed for acids, alkalis, chemical dosing, fertiliser solutions and other aggressive fluids compatible with its materials of construction.
Unlike the normally closed PPA1, the PPA2 is normally open, allowing flow when electrical power is removed. Its direct-acting dry-armature design requires no minimum differential pressure and operates from 0 to 1 Bar with the standard 10W coil.

The normally open valve remains open when de-energised and closes when the coil is energised.
Because it is direct acting, the PPA2 can operate at zero differential pressure, making it particularly useful for gravity-fed tanks, chemical dosing equipment and low-pressure process systems.

Isolating Diaphragm Design
The PPA2 uses a dry-armature design with an isolating diaphragm, separating the controlled fluid from the solenoid armature mechanism.
This reduces exposure of the moving solenoid components to aggressive media and makes the design particularly useful for corrosive chemical and dosing applications.

Maximum Media Viscosity: 50 cSt
For potassium nitrate and other specific chemicals, compatibility should be checked against the PPA body, stainless steel internals and selected elastomer at the actual concentration and temperature.
Important – Not for Chlorine
Despite the PPA2 being suitable for many aggressive chemical applications, we do not recommend this valve for chlorine service.
Chemical suitability should always be determined from the exact chemical, concentration, temperature and selected seal material.
