Description
1/4-1/2" Pneumatic Shut-Off Vent Valve – Shako SHV
Shako SHV Pneumatic Shut-Off & Vent Valve – 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2"
The Shako SHV Series pneumatic shut-off valve provides fast and reliable isolation of the compressed-air supply to filters, regulators, lubricators (FRLs), pneumatic machinery and industrial air treatment systems.
Designed to be installed at the inlet of an FRL assembly or pneumatic system, the SHV allows the operator to quickly shut off the incoming compressed-air supply for maintenance, servicing or machinery isolation.
A positive positioning mechanism ensures the air supply is fully shut off, while the lockable operating handle provides additional safety by allowing the valve to be secured in the isolated position. Shako specifically identifies these as key safety features of the SHV design.
Available with 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" ports, the SHV offers excellent flow capacity with Cv values up to 8.0.
Function & Operation
Product type: Pneumatic shut-off / isolation valve
Function: Compressed-air supply isolation
Operation: Manual shut-off
Media: Compressed air
Operating pressure: 0.5–12 Bar
Maximum inlet / test pressure: 15 Bar
The valve is designed to cut off the incoming air supply quickly and completely, providing a convenient isolation point before pneumatic air preparation equipment.
Lockable Safety Isolation
The SHV incorporates a lockable handle design for increased safety.
This allows the compressed-air supply to be positively isolated during maintenance or servicing and helps prevent inadvertent operation of the air supply.
A built-in positioning mechanism ensures that the supply is completely cut off when the valve is placed in its shut-off position.

Construction
Body: Die-cast aluminium
Shut-off panel: Polycarbonate
Media: Compressed air
Net weight: 350g
The robust aluminium construction is suitable for general industrial pneumatic installations, machine building and compressed-air treatment equipment.
Pressure & Temperature
Operating pressure: 0.5–12 Bar
Maximum inlet / test pressure: 15 Bar
Ambient temperature: -10°C to +60°C
This provides a useful operating range for standard industrial compressed-air systems and pneumatic machinery.
High Flow Capacity
The SHV Series is designed to provide effective air isolation without unnecessarily restricting the compressed-air supply.
1/4" SHV-02 – Cv 4.0
3/8" SHV-03 – Cv 8.0
1/2" SHV-04 – Cv 8.0
The larger 3/8" and 1/2" models therefore provide particularly high flow capacity for pneumatic air preparation and machinery installations.
FRL Air Treatment Installation
The SHV is particularly suited for fitting upstream of filter, regulator and lubricator equipment.
The manufacturer's installation drawing shows the SHV mounted directly before an FRL assembly, providing a convenient local isolation point for the complete downstream air-treatment system.
This makes servicing filters, regulators, lubricators and downstream pneumatic equipment quicker and safer.
Compact Design
Approximate dimensions:
Height: 70mm
Width: 64mm
Body depth: 51.2mm
The compact format allows the valve to be incorporated into pneumatic control panels and FRL assemblies without requiring excessive installation space.

Why Use an SHV Shut-Off Valve?
Installing a dedicated shut-off valve ahead of an FRL provides a simple local means of isolating the compressed-air supply before maintenance or servicing.
The SHV combines:
✓ Fast air supply shut-off
✓ Positive shut-off positioning
✓ Lockable safety handle
✓ High flow capacity
✓ Compact construction
✓ Direct FRL integration
This makes it a useful addition to industrial compressed-air installations where equipment needs to be isolated regularly for servicing or maintenance.
