Polyurethane Pneumatic Tubing – Ether Based PU Air Tube
Flexible ether-based polyurethane pneumatic tubing for compressed air, water, automation and general industrial pneumatic systems.
PU Ether tubing combines excellent flexibility and elasticity with a smooth surface finish, making it ideal for pneumatic installations using push-in fittings and applications where tubing is repeatedly flexed or routed through confined spaces.
The polyether-based polyurethane construction provides excellent resistance to hydrolysis and micro-organisms, making the tubing particularly suitable for humid, moisture-exposed and low-temperature operating environments.
Ether PU tubing is also suitable for outdoor and weather-exposed applications. UV performance varies according to colour and exposure conditions, with black tubing preferred where improved UV resistance is required.
Available in metric and imperial sizes, with multiple colour options for pneumatic circuit identification.

Why Choose Ether Based Polyurethane Tubing?
Ether-based polyurethane tubing is particularly suited to pneumatic and fluid applications involving moisture, repeated movement, low temperatures or demanding routing requirements.
Its excellent hydrolysis resistance makes it less susceptible to deterioration in humid or moisture-exposed environments, while its flexibility and small bend radius allow easy installation around machinery and through confined spaces.
The smooth outer surface makes the tube suitable for use with standard pneumatic push-in fittings matched to the tube outside diameter.
For outdoor installations, darker colours — particularly black PU tubing — are preferred where increased resistance to UV exposure is required.
PU Ether vs PU Ester Tubing
Polyurethane pneumatic tubing is commonly manufactured using either polyether (Ether PU) or polyester (Ester PU) formulations. Although both provide excellent flexibility, their resistance characteristics differ.
Ether-based polyurethane offers superior hydrolysis resistance and longer service life according to the manufacturer's material comparison, making it particularly suitable for humid, wet and moisture-exposed environments.
Ester PU offers greater oil resistance and may therefore be preferable where oil exposure is the primary consideration.
