Description

1" Aggressive Media Solenoid Valve PTFE, PVC or PP – 160A25

The 160A25 is a chemically resistant 2/2 way normally closed solenoid valve designed for controlling acids, alkalis, water and other aggressive industrial fluids.

Available with PVC, polypropylene (PP) or PTFE valve bodies, the 160A25 can be configured to suit a wide range of chemical processing, dosing and corrosive fluid applications. The pressure-assisted diaphragm design incorporates a PTFE isolating bellows, creating a dry-armature arrangement that separates the solenoid mechanism from the process media.

With a large 25mm orifice, high flow capacity and 0.3–6 Bar operating pressure range, the 160A25 provides an effective solution for aggressive media applications requiring greater flow than smaller chemical solenoid valves.

Valve Function & Operation

Function: 2/2 way normally closed
Operation: Pressure assisted / servo assisted
Valve Design: Diaphragm seat valve
Armature Design: PTFE bellows isolated dry armature
Normal Position: Closed when de-energised
Energised Position: Open
Minimum Differential Pressure: 0.3 Bar
Operating Pressure: 0.3 to 6 Bar
The PTFE bellows isolates the solenoid armature from the process media, making the 160A25 particularly suitable for corrosive and aggressive fluid control.

Ports & Connections

Nominal Size: DN25
PVC Body: 32mm cement socket
PP Body: 32mm weld socket
PTFE Body: 1" BSP threaded connection
The choice of three body materials and corresponding connection types allows the valve to be integrated into a wide range of chemical process pipework.

Pressure & Flow

Operating Pressure: 0.3 to 6 Bar
Minimum Differential Pressure: 0.3 Bar
Orifice: 25mm
Kv Flow Factor: 10.3 m³/h
Water Flow: 172.01 L/min at 1 Bar pressure drop
Maximum Media Viscosity: 50 cSt
The 25mm internal flow path provides substantially greater capacity than smaller chemical solenoid valves, making the 160A25 suitable for higher-flow dosing, transfer and process applications.

Construction & Materials

Body Options:
✓ PVC
✓ Polypropylene (PP)
✓ PTFE
Solenoid Tube: Stainless steel
Internal Parts: Stainless steel
Armature Isolation: PTFE bellows
Seal Options: EPDM or FKM
The selected body and seal combination should be chosen according to the chemical media, concentration and operating temperature.

Media Compatibility

Suitable for compatible:
✓ Acids
✓ Alkalis
✓ Water
✓ Chemical dosing fluids
✓ Aggressive chemicals
✓ Corrosive process liquids
✓ Compatible gases
Maximum Media Viscosity: 50 cSt
Chemical compatibility should be checked against the selected PVC, PP or PTFE body together with the EPDM or FKM seal material.

Coil & Electrical

Solenoid Coil: Nass Magnet 13/30
Coil Power: 15 Watt DC
AC Power: 23VA inrush / 17VA holding
Insulation: Class H 180°C
Duty Rating: 100% continuous
Protection: IP65 with connector fitted
Electrical Connection: DIN 43650A
The continuous-duty industrial solenoid operator allows the valve to remain energised for extended periods when required by the control system.

Voltage Options

12V DC
24V DC
48V DC
24V AC
48V AC
110V AC
230V AC
380V AC
AC versions are available at 50/60Hz.

ATEX Hazardous Area Option

Why Choose the 160A25?

The 160A25 combines a large 25mm flow path with chemically resistant PVC, polypropylene or PTFE body options and a PTFE bellows-isolated dry armature.
Its 0.3–6 Bar pressure range and high flow capacity make it particularly suitable for aggressive chemical applications where conventional metallic solenoid valves may not provide suitable corrosion resistance.
The choice of PVC, PP or PTFE construction also allows the valve material and connection method to be matched more closely to the chemical process and associated pipework.
