1/2" 3/2 Universal Stainless Steel Solenoid Valve – 309390-0122
The ERA SIB 309390-0122 is a heavy-duty 1/2" 3/2 way universal direct-acting stainless steel solenoid valve designed for compressed air, inert gases and compatible industrial media at pressures from 0 to 10 Bar.
Its universal 3-port, 2-position construction allows the same valve to be configured for normally closed, normally open or diverting operation, reducing the need to stock different valve functions. Because the valve is direct acting, it operates from zero pressure differential without requiring pilot pressure.
Manufactured from 316 stainless steel with a large 9mm orifice and FKM seals, the 309390 provides substantially higher flow than smaller conventional direct-acting 3/2 valves, with a water flow rating of 13 L/min at 1 Bar pressure difference. The original manufacturer data confirms the 9mm, 13 L/min configuration for the 3/8" and 1/2" 309390 models.

The universal three-port design allows the valve to be piped for several different operating functions:

Zero Pressure Direct Acting Design
Unlike a pressure-assisted or pilot-operated valve, the 309390 does not require a minimum differential pressure for operation.

This makes the valve suitable for applications where system pressure may fall to zero during operation or start-up.
The valve is not specified for vacuum service.

Water Applications
The 309390 can be used with water where the materials and seals are compatible; however, regular lubrication of the piston is recommended for water service to help prevent sticking or blockage.
For new water applications, the current replacement model should generally be considered instead of specifying the discontinued 309390.

Replacement – CNXCBPI039.0U
The 309390-0122 is now superseded by the CNXCBPI039.0U universal 3/2 stainless steel solenoid valve.
The replacement retains the important operating characteristics of the original valve, including:

The new version uses a machined stainless steel body rather than the original cast construction, while maintaining the same installation dimensions and core technical performance.
Improved ATEX Ex d Replacement Option
A major advantage of the current CNXCBPI039.0U replacement is the improved hazardous-area operator option.
The current Ex d specification includes:
Ex db IIC T6 / T5
Ex tb IIIC T80°C / T95°C Db
IP66 / IP67
The Ex d operator is 100% duty rated with Class H insulation and is available in aluminium, with stainless steel enclosure as an option.
This makes the current replacement particularly attractive for hazardous-area applications where an upgraded explosion-protected electrical operator is required.
Ordering Information
The original ERA SIB 309390-0122 has now been replaced by the CNXCBPI039.0U.
