3/8" 3/2 Universal Stainless Steel Solenoid Valve – ERA SIB 309390-0138
The ERA SIB 309390-0138 is a heavy-duty 3/8" 3/2 way universal direct-acting stainless steel solenoid valve designed for compressed air, inert gases and compatible industrial media at pressures from 0 to 10 Bar.
Its universal 3-port, 2-position design allows the same valve to operate as normally closed, normally open or a 3-way diverting valve, providing a versatile solution for pneumatic, gas and industrial process control applications. Direct-acting operation means no minimum pressure differential is required.
Manufactured from 316 stainless steel with stainless steel internals, a large 9mm orifice and NBR seals as standard, the 309390-0138 provides a water flow of 13 L/min at 1 Bar pressure difference. The original ERA SIB specification confirms the 3/8" model with 9mm orifice, 13 L/min flow and 0–10 Bar operation.

The universal 3-port design allows the valve to be configured for:
✓ 3/2 way normally closed
✓ 3/2 way normally open
✓ 3-way diverting operation
This provides considerably more flexibility than a dedicated normally closed or normally open 3/2 valve and makes the 309390 suitable for pneumatic control, switching and diverting applications.
Zero Pressure Direct Acting Design
The 309390 is direct acting and therefore does not require a minimum differential pressure for operation.
Operating pressure: 0 to 10 Bar
This allows reliable operation during system start-up and other applications where pressure may fall to zero.
The valve is not specified for vacuum service.

Water Applications
The valve may be used with compatible water applications; however, when operating with water, the piston should be greased regularly to help prevent sticking or blockage.
For new water installations, the current replacement valve should generally be considered.

Replacement – CNXBPI039.0U
The ERA SIB 309390-0138 has now been replaced by the CNXBPI039.0U.
The replacement retains the key technical characteristics of the original 3/8" valve:

The replacement uses a machined stainless steel body rather than the original cast stainless construction, while retaining the same dimensions and core technical specification.
Improved ATEX Ex d Option
The replacement CNXBPI039.0U is also available with an improved explosion-protected solenoid operator for hazardous-area applications.

The Ex d operator is 100% duty rated with Class H insulation, M20 × 1.5 cable entry and optional 1/2" NPT entry. Aluminium construction is standard with a stainless steel enclosure available as an option.
