3/4" WRAS Motorised Ball Valve 40 Bar Failsafe ABV06W
The ABV06W-E2-MO 3/4" WRAS approved motorised ball valve combines a high-flow nickel-plated brass ball valve with a compact IP67 electric actuator for automatic isolation and control of potable water, air and compatible industrial fluids.
Featuring a 20mm flow bore, 3/4" BSP female connections and ISO 5211 direct actuator mounting, the valve operates from 0 to 40 bar and provides approximately 10-second opening or closing.
Control options include Failsafe Closed, Failsafe Open and Power Open/Power Close, allowing the valve to be configured according to the required safe position and control system.
The actuator includes manual override, visual position indication and E2 volt-free open and closed position feedback as standard.

High Flow 20mm Bore
The 3/4" valve provides a 20mm flow bore with Kv 29.5, making it particularly suitable for water systems where good flow capacity and low restriction are important.
Unlike small-orifice solenoid valves, the rotary ball-valve design provides a large flow path while still allowing automatic electrical isolation.

Failsafe Closed
Power ON → Valve opens
Power OFF or supply failure → Valve automatically closes using internally stored reserve electrical energy.
This configuration is ideal where the required safe condition is for the water or fluid supply to be automatically isolated following a power failure.
Failsafe Open
Power ON → Valve closes
Power OFF or supply failure → Valve automatically opens using internally stored reserve electrical energy.
This configuration is suitable where the required safe condition is for the flow path to remain open following loss of electrical power.
Failsafe Reserve Power
The failsafe actuator uses internal reserve electrical energy to return the valve automatically following loss of supply.
Initial charging when new: Approximately 1.5–2 minutes
The actuator should be allowed sufficient continuous power to fully charge its internal reserve-energy system before failsafe operation is relied upon.
Power Open / Power Close

Power to Green → Valve opens
Remove power from Green → Valve closes
This provides simple electrical open/close control without automatic failsafe return. The manufacturer's wiring information confirms this three-wire control arrangement.
E2 Open & Closed Position Feedback
The E2 actuator provides independent volt-free open and closed position feedback, allowing valve position to be monitored by a PLC, BMS, relay or other external control system.
No voltage is supplied by the feedback switches.

Long-Term Cycle Testing
A similar ABV failsafe motorised actuator was subjected to an extended in-house endurance test beginning on 1 November 2020.
The actuator was fitted to a dry 1½" stainless steel ball valve and controlled by an SVDT22 digital cycle timer, operating continuously on a 60-second cycle:
30 seconds powered → Open
30 seconds power removed → Close
The assembly continued operating until October 2022 and finally failed after: 977,762 open and close cycles
This test considerably exceeded the actuator's normal 70,000-cycle rated life and provides useful real-world evidence of the durability achieved by the actuator design.
