Shako PEC22 PTFE Pneumatic Valve – Acid, Alkali & Pure Water
The Shako PEC22 Series is a 2/2 way normally closed pneumatic PTFE valve specifically designed for aggressive chemical liquids, pure water and high-purity fluid control applications.
Featuring a PTFE valve body with an isolated diaphragm design, the PEC22 keeps the controlled liquid separated from the pneumatic actuator while providing excellent chemical resistance for acids, alkalis and other liquids compatible with PTFE.
The valve is pneumatically direct acting for fast response and incorporates an anti-backflow design, helping prevent reverse flow and contamination in chemical dosing, laboratory, water treatment and high-purity process systems.
Available from 3/8" to 1" BSP, with optional NPT and Rc threads.

Pilot media: Compressed air or inert gas
Pilot pressure: 1.5–9 Bar
The pneumatic cylinder directly actuates the valve diaphragm, providing rapid and reliable switching without an electrical solenoid operator.
This makes the PEC22 particularly suitable for chemical and high-purity systems where pneumatic actuation is preferred.

The larger 3/4" and 1" valves therefore provide increased flow capacity while retaining the same basic PTFE diaphragm valve design.
Pressure Range
Fluid pressure range: Vacuum to 5 Bar
Maximum secondary / back pressure: 3 Bar
Cylinder operating pressure: 1.5–9 Bar
The anti-backflow construction is particularly useful where reverse pressure could otherwise allow process liquid to migrate back through the system.
Anti-Backflow Design
The PEC22 incorporates an anti-backflow function to help prevent reverse liquid flow through the valve.

PTFE Chemical Resistant Construction

The PTFE wetted construction provides excellent resistance to a broad range of aggressive chemical liquids.
Media compatibility must always be checked against the actual chemical concentration, temperature and operating conditions.

Important: The manufacturer specifies liquid media only. The PEC22 should therefore not be specified for compressed air, gases or gaseous chemical media.
Temperature Range
Ambient temperature: -10°C to +60°C
The valve is intended for chemical liquid control within the stated temperature limits and should be selected according to the compatibility of the fluid with the PTFE wetted components.
Installation
Mounting position: Horizontal
This is important on this particular valve. Unlike many of the angle-seat valves we've just done, I would not state "any position" for the PEC22 because Shako specifically requires horizontal installation.
Repair Kits
Replacement diaphragm and gasket repair kits are available for maintaining PEC22 valves in service.
