Unlike traditional inline surge arrestors, the ALF-S integrates water hammer protection directly at the pipeline corner, reducing installation complexity while providing rapid surge damping.
Where Water Hammer Occurs
Water hammer commonly develops:
- Downstream of check (non-return) valves
- At pipeline direction changes
- In long horizontal runs (>50 metres)
- During pump start-up or shutdown
Installing the ALF-S significantly reduces pressure spikes, vibration, pipe stress and damaging shock waves caused by sudden changes in water flow.
