Description
Shako JA1 / JA2 Solenoid Valve Seal Kit & Plunger Assembly
Replacement seal kit or plunger armature assembly for Shako JA1 and JA2 Series 2/2 way normally closed stainless steel solenoid valves.
Two replacement spare-part options are available: the ZGJA2 seal kit containing the principal valve and O-ring seals, or the EVB220056-JA plunger assembly containing the AISI 430F stainless steel moving plunger and return spring.
These replacement parts are intended for servicing existing Shako JA1 and JA2 normally closed stainless steel solenoid valves, helping extend the service life of an otherwise serviceable valve body and solenoid assembly.
Seal material options include FKM (Viton), NBR or EPDM, allowing the replacement seals to be selected according to the original valve specification and controlled media.

The kit provides the principal replaceable sealing components for servicing the JA1 and JA2 normally closed solenoid valve.
Seal Material Options
The ZGJA2 seal kit is available with a choice of sealing materials:
FKM / Viton
Suitable for many oils, fuels, air and compatible industrial fluids, subject to operating conditions and chemical compatibility.
NBR
Common general-purpose sealing material for air, water, oils and compatible fluids.
EPDM
Commonly selected for water and compatible aqueous media where EPDM chemical compatibility is appropriate.
Always select the seal material according to the original valve specification, media, concentration, pressure and temperature.
PTFE Seal Version
The original PTFE version has been discontinued and should therefore not be presented as a selectable JA1/JA2 seal option.
For applications specifically requiring PTFE sealing, a new variant of the Shako SPU220AR Series can provide an alternative solution.

The EVB220056-JA is the replacement moving plunger / armature assembly used within compatible Shako JA1 and JA2 normally closed solenoid valves.
The assembly incorporates the stainless steel plunger together with its return spring, allowing the moving internal assembly to be replaced where the original component has become worn, damaged or contaminated.
What is a Solenoid Valve Plunger?
The plunger, also commonly referred to as the armature, is the moving component within the solenoid operator.
When the solenoid coil is energised, the magnetic field moves the plunger against the return spring to operate the valve.
When power is removed from a normally closed JA valve, the spring returns the plunger and valve to its normal closed position.
Wear, contamination or damage to the plunger and its sealing surface can therefore affect the reliable operation and sealing of the solenoid valve.
Seal Kit or Plunger Assembly?
Choose the ZGJA2 Seal Kit when the existing mechanical components remain serviceable but the valve requires replacement seals.
Choose the EVB220056-JA Plunger Assembly where the moving stainless steel plunger, armature or return spring requires replacement.
Depending upon the condition of an older valve, both the seal kit and plunger assembly may be required during a complete overhaul.

Why Repair the Existing Valve?
Where the stainless steel valve body, solenoid tube and other components remain serviceable, replacing worn internal components can provide a cost-effective alternative to replacing the complete solenoid valve.
The availability of both the ZGJA2 seal kit and EVB220056-JA plunger assembly allows the principal sealing components and moving armature assembly to be serviced independently.
This can be particularly useful for existing machinery where JA1 or JA2 valves are already installed and replacing the complete valve would require additional pipework or electrical modifications.
