Description
SHAKO 0.01µm Coalescing Filter Element – ZH04H & ZH08H
Genuine SHAKO 0.01 micron high-efficiency coalescing filter elements for compatible UCMF and UMF compressed air filters and multi-stage air treatment systems.
The distinctive red glass-fibre coalescing element is designed for fine compressed-air filtration, removing extremely fine particulate contamination together with oil and water aerosols carried within the compressed-air stream.
Available in two sizes covering SHAKO 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" filter systems.

High-Efficiency Coalescing Filtration
The ZH04H and ZH08H are designed as fine coalescing stages within compressed-air treatment systems.
The glass-fibre media captures very fine contamination and causes microscopic liquid aerosols to coalesce into larger droplets. These droplets migrate through the filter media and are separated from the compressed-air stream for collection within the filter bowl.
This makes the element particularly suitable for reducing:

Multi-Stage Air Treatment
For high-quality compressed air, the coalescing element should normally be installed after a suitable general-purpose particulate pre-filter.
Where further removal of residual oil vapour and odours is required, a green SHAKO activated carbon ZH04HCA or ZH08HCA element can be installed as the final filtration stage.
A typical arrangement is:
Particulate Filter → 0.01µm Coalescing Filter → Activated Carbon Filter
This protects the fine coalescing and activated carbon stages from premature contamination and provides progressively finer air treatment.
Filter Condition & Replacement
Coalescing elements should be inspected and replaced as part of the compressed-air system's planned maintenance schedule.
As contamination accumulates within the element, differential pressure across the filter increases and available airflow can reduce.
On compatible SHAKO filtration systems fitted with a differential pressure gauge, increasing pressure drop provides a visual indication that the filter element requires attention or replacement.
