3/8" Brass Assisted Lift Solenoid Valve – SHAKO PU220A-03
The SHAKO PU220A-03 is a high-flow 3/8" 2/2 way normally closed zero-rated assisted-lift brass solenoid valve designed for control of compressed air, water, vacuum, oils and compatible gases and process fluids.
Combining an assisted-lift diaphragm with a large 13mm orifice, the PU220A-03 provides substantially greater flow capacity than conventional compact direct acting solenoid valves while retaining operation from zero positive pressure.
The valve can also operate under vacuum conditions, making it particularly versatile for OEM machinery, vacuum equipment, industrial automation, water systems and general fluid control applications.
Manufactured from forged brass with stainless steel internal components, the PU220A-03 is available with NBR, FKM (Viton), EPDM or HNBR seals. When used with the appropriate Nass Magnet solenoid operator, media temperatures from -40°C up to +180°C can be accommodated according to the selected seal material.

The assisted-lift design combines direct mechanical lifting with diaphragm assistance, allowing the valve to operate from zero positive pressure while providing a substantially larger flow path than a conventional direct acting valve.
This makes the PU220A-03 particularly suitable for systems where little or no pressure differential is available at start-up.
The valve can also be used for suitable vacuum applications.

High Flow Zero-Rated Design
The SHAKO PU220A-03 combines the high flow capability of a diaphragm valve with assisted-lift operation from zero positive pressure.
Its large 13mm orifice provides substantially greater flow capacity than the smaller direct acting PU220AR Series, while the mechanically assisted diaphragm allows the valve to operate where conventional pilot-operated valves may fail because insufficient pressure differential is available.
This makes the PU220A-03 particularly useful for tank outlets, gravity-fed water systems, vacuum equipment, low-pressure systems and industrial applications where pressure conditions can vary during operation.
The forged brass body and stainless steel internal components provide robust industrial construction, while NBR, FKM, EPDM and HNBR seal options allow the valve to be configured for a wide variety of compatible media.
When fitted with the appropriate Nass Magnet solenoid operator, the available media temperature range extends from -40°C with HNBR seals up to +180°C with FKM seals.
An optional ATEX explosion-protected configuration is also available for hazardous-area applications, with the maximum operating pressure restricted to 3 Bar and maximum media temperature restricted to +80°C.
