Description
1/4-1/2" 2-Stage Filter Regulator 0.01 Micron – Shako UFR-UMFB
2-Stage Air Filter Regulator + 0.01 Micron Coalescing Filter – Shako UFR-UMFB
The Shako UFR-UMFB 2-stage compressed air filtration system combines a high-performance filter regulator and 0.01 micron coalescing filter in one compact industrial air-treatment assembly.
Designed for applications requiring significantly cleaner compressed air than a conventional filter regulator can provide, the first stage removes bulk water and solid contamination while accurately regulating downstream pressure. The second 0.01 μm coalescing stage then removes fine oil aerosols and microscopic particulate contamination.
Available with 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" BSP ports, the UFR-UMFB provides a compact solution for pneumatic instrumentation, automation equipment, process machinery and other applications requiring clean, regulated compressed air.
2-Stage Air Filtration
The UFR-UMFB treats the compressed air progressively through two filtration stages.
Stage 1 – Pre-Filter + Pressure Regulator
The first stage combines compressed-air filtration with downstream pressure regulation.
Filtration: 5 micron
Function: Pre-filtration + pressure regulation
Removes: Solid particles and bulk water contamination
Water removal: Up to approximately 90%
Regulator: Lockable pressure regulator
Pressure range: 0.5–10 Bar
Test pressure: 15 Bar
This first stage protects the downstream coalescing element from excessive bulk contamination while maintaining the required system pressure.
Stage 2 – 0.01 Micron Coalescing Filter
The second stage provides fine compressed-air purification.
Filtration: 0.01 micron
Filter type: Coalescing
Identification: Red coalescing element
Function: Fine oil aerosol and particulate removal
This stage captures microscopic contamination remaining after the pre-filter, producing substantially cleaner compressed air for sensitive downstream equipment.
Port Sizes & Connections
Available port sizes:
✓ 1/4" BSP
✓ 3/8" BSP
✓ 1/2" BSP
Optional:
✓ NPT Thread
Combining the different sizes into one product page is sensible here because the filtration principle and construction remain the same, while the customer simply selects the required connection size.
Pressure Regulation
Operating pressure: 0.5–10 Bar
Test pressure: 15 Bar
Regulator: Lockable
The lockable adjustment mechanism helps prevent accidental changes to the downstream pressure once the required setting has been established.
A pressure gauge is supplied as standard for convenient monitoring of regulated outlet pressure.
Filter Bowl Construction
Standard bowl: Polycarbonate
Design: Fast-mount safety twist-lock
The quick-release twist-lock design allows convenient access to the filter elements for routine inspection and replacement.
Optional bowls:
✓ Acid / Alkali Resistant Bowl
✓ Aluminium Bowl
This allows the assembly to be configured for more demanding industrial environments where standard polycarbonate bowls may not be appropriate.
Drain Options
Standard: Semi-automatic drain
Optional:
✓ Manual Drain
The drain provides convenient removal of collected condensate from the filtration stages as part of routine compressed-air system maintenance.
Temperature Range
Operating temperature: 0°C to +60°C
The assembly is intended for industrial compressed-air treatment within this specified temperature range.
Supplied Complete
The UFR-UMFB is supplied as a complete assembled air-treatment system with:
✓ UFR Filter Regulator
✓ UMFB Coalescing Filter
✓ 2 × Wall Mounting Brackets
✓ Mounting Screws
✓ Pressure Gauge
✓ Blanking Plug
✓ User Instructions
This provides a complete installation-ready filtration and regulation package rather than requiring the individual treatment stages to be sourced separately.
Maintenance & Replacement Elements
Both filtration stages are designed for routine servicing, with replacement filter elements readily available.
The twist-lock bowl arrangement provides convenient access to the elements, helping reduce maintenance time and allowing the filtration performance of the system to be maintained throughout its service life.
Why Use Two-Stage Compressed Air Filtration?
A standard pneumatic filter regulator is excellent for removing bulk condensate and general particulate contamination, but sensitive pneumatic and process equipment can require considerably cleaner air.
The UFR-UMFB therefore uses progressive filtration:
Stage 1 → 5 μm pre-filtration + pressure regulation
Stage 2 → 0.01 μm fine coalescing filtration
This arrangement reduces the contaminant load reaching the fine coalescing element while providing clean, accurately regulated compressed air to downstream equipment.

✓ Industrial Air Preparation
Quality & Reliability
The UFR-UMFB is designed for long-term industrial compressed-air service and provides filtration and pressure regulation within one compact modular assembly.
Units are factory tested for pressure, flow, leakage and correct function before dispatch.
The two-stage configuration also helps protect the fine coalescing element by removing larger contaminants and bulk water before the compressed air reaches the second filtration stage.
