20Nm IP67 Modulating Electric Valve Actuator – ABV/9M
The ABV/9M is a precision 90° quarter-turn modulating electric actuator designed for proportional control of ball valves, butterfly valves and other rotary valves. Delivering 15Nm running torque and up to 20Nm breakaway torque, it provides accurate positioning for industrial flow control, water treatment, HVAC, chemical processing and automated process control systems.
Available with 4–20mA, 0–5V or 0–10V analogue control signals, the ABV/(M allows precise valve positioning between fully open and fully closed. Its proportional control system automatically adjusts the actuator position in response to changing input signals, providing smooth and repeatable flow regulation.
Featuring an IP67 weatherproof enclosure, ISO5211 mounting, visual position indication and manual override, the ABV/9M combines compact construction with reliable operation. A capacitor-powered failsafe option is available exclusively with the 4–20mA control version.
Modulating Valve Control
Unlike standard electric actuators that operate only between fully open and fully closed positions, the ABV/9M provides proportional positioning throughout its 90° rotation.
This allows the connected valve to regulate flow rather than simply switching it on or off.
The actuator responds to an external analogue control signal from a PLC, BMS, process controller or other compatible control equipment, automatically adjusting the valve position to match the required setpoint.
Typical applications include water flow regulation, temperature control, chemical dosing, mixing systems and automated industrial processes.

Capacitor-Powered Failsafe Option
The ABV/9M is available with an optional capacitor-powered failsafe system when specified with 4–20mA control.
During normal operation, the actuator responds proportionally to the analogue control signal. In the event of an electrical power failure, the stored capacitor energy automatically drives the actuator to its designated failsafe position.
This provides an additional level of protection for applications requiring automatic valve positioning following loss of electrical power.
Important: Failsafe operation is available with the 4–20mA version only. The 0–5V and 0–10V versions are standard modulating actuators without failsafe functionality.

Construction & Mounting
The ABV/9M features a compact engineering plastic enclosure with internal metal gearing for dependable quarter-turn operation.
The ISO5211 F03 and F05 mounting interface allows direct installation onto compatible ball valves, butterfly valves and other rotary valve assemblies.
An 11mm female square drive is provided as standard, with an optional 9mm reducing adaptor available for smaller valve stems.
The IP67 enclosure provides protection against dust and temporary water immersion under the specified test conditions, making the actuator suitable for appropriate industrial installations.
